Rick Perry Cheers Anti-Abortion Bill As Texas Men Cheer the Rape of a 13 Year Old Girl!

Wednesday, July 17th was the day in Austin Texas when two men were charged in the rape of a 13 year old girl. They were just two of the 10 who were involved with the gang rape of this innocent 13 year old child. While some were raping the child, the others cheered.

The next day, on Thursday July 18,th Republican lawmakers in Austin Texas, led by Rick Perry, were cheering about another kind of rape. It was the passage of the most restrictive abortion law in the U.S. since the passage of Roe v. Wade. House Bill 2 would ban not only abortions after 20 weeks gestation (4 weeks earlier than Roe v. Wade) , but the bill goes further to impose new regulations on the use of RU-486.  That is the drug of choice for an early abortion, up to 63 days after the start of the last menstrual period. For such early terminations, the drug has been 95-98% successful. Thus, Rick Perry, and Texas lawmakers have lodged a full frontal attack on abortion rights of all kinds!

The amazing thing is that Perry and other Republican Texas law makers have justified their actions by portraying themselves as the champions of “women’s health.”

Republican Representative Glenn Hegar was quoted :

“There has been no other piece of legislation that I have ever worked on — nor any that I will ever work on — that has weighed so heavy on my mind, on my heart and literally on my soul,” Hegar said.

Rick Perry himself was quoted:

“This is an important day for those who support life and for those who support the health of Texas women,

“In signing House Bill 2, we celebrate and further cement the foundation on which the culture of life in Texas is built.”

“ This legislation builds on the strong and unwavering commitment we have made to defend life and protect women’s health. I am proud of our lawmakers, and citizens who tirelessly defended our smallest and most vulnerable Texans and future Texans.”

Instead of focusing on the horror of women, girls, and children raped and sexually abused in Texas, Perry has lodged an attack on all abortion rights in Texas. Instead of making it easier for the 13 year old girl to receive the medical services she might need if she should become pregnant, following this gang rape, Perry has made it harder for her and for victims like her. The gang rape of the 13 year old girl was recorded on cell phones of some of the men involved in the attack. The vote of the Texas Legislature was also recorded on video, but it probably won’t be introduced in evidence in any criminal proceeding, although it probably should be.

Unfortunately this 13 year old victim in Austin is just one of many victims of rape, sexual abuse, and sex trafficking in Texas, and the United States. It was April of 2010 that charges were filed against 14 adults and three juveniles in Cleveland Texas, a small town outside Houston, for the gang rape of an 11 year old girl. At least 15 of those charged were convicted.

As lawmakers and “right to life” advocated across the country focus millions of dollars and thousands of hours of time on their cause, the plight of victims of sexual abuse seems to be of only momentary interest. When Ariel Castro was arrested and charged with abduction, imprisonment, and rape of young women 14, 16, and 20 years old it made headlines for maybe three days. Who even remembers the story out of California of a 16 year old girl raped, beaten, robbed, and abused for over two hours, by six men , as 20 people watched and did nothing to stop or even report the crime.

It’s been about a year since the gang rape of the teenage girl in Steubenville by football players. The boys involved were tried in Juvenile Court and received one and two year sentences.

These were the same boys who said:

“she is so dead”

“She is deader than Trayvon Martin”

“You didn’t see how they carried her out…they peed on her, that’s how you know she’s dead.”

She’s so raped right now.”

At the trial of these rapists, their attorney called one of the defendants a “family-oriented, loving, young man.”

After these guys get out of jail, maybe they will move to Texas and run for Governor?

  1. It’s called Rape Racketeering…this is how it works…you allow rape or “arrange” an “accidental incident” to get specific women pregnant…those are usually “richey rich girls” who can afford to put the baby up for adoption…that is when the Racketeering begins…because of the “identity” of the women…hush money is sent with baby…problem is most of the time baby doesn’t get the money and is just crucified like the mother…
the wonderful world of corruption and domestic-terrorism…sounds like a global matter to me…and with Russia’s Putin all upset over adoptions…
Good idea to take matters to the UN…with sunlight you get a disinfectant…

  2. Since when does a gov who is NOT a dr. BTW get to make medical decisions for residents of the state? And does this include the plan b pill which is BY NATIONAL law to be available in every pharmacy to every woman/woman-child?
And last but not least who are the braindeads that vote in these clowns?

  3. And the women of Texas continue to vote for this monster who has absolutely no respect for A GIRL or a WOMAN’S LIFE on earth. Texas has no respect for people PERIOD! Perry would rather pass laws that protect rapists as they cheer a young girl getting raped. Good luck with that republican women. Not only have the GOP legalized killing young black boys for going to the store at 7pm at nite and buying Skittles and Arizona Ice Tea then looking fricken SUSPECT and that being grounds to kill YOUR SON. NOW we’re making laws to open the doors all the doors for RAPISTS. They must be so full of joy and loving their GOP. The GOP protects abusive men and rapists and the abusers know it. THIS is for YOUR little girls right wing women and I feel for my bros and sisters on the left who live in these red states. Get the hell out of there. Come to California where you can breathe. Remember a rapist does not have time to ask party affiliation of a little girl or give a crap about the color of their skin. They are definitely not prejudiced. And from what I have seen and read the majority of rapists pedophiles and incest are WHITE MALES . RW Ladies I don’t know where your heads are but do you ever think ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN or YOUR LIFE and FUTURE and where its going with the GOP? Or is it more important to vote PARTY? Looks like thats what more important to you. Then lock your doors because your great little man Perry just let ALL RAPISTS LOOSE. None of your daughters or black sons are safe now. I feel for all citizens in RED STATES. They are really getting the shaft from the republican representatives. Its just incredible how awful they’re making these people suffer and they keep voting GOP!

    1. Tiget Lily,
It is sickening to me! It’s shameful that Texas is the economic future of the country, and this is the civil rights future of women in Texas!

  4. I was born and raised in Texas. I left the state for college in 1962 and never looked back. My thoughts are with the Women of Texas who are affected by these repressive laws, but I believe there will be repercussions from this assault on women’s rights in Texas. Texas women are strong and you don’t want to mess with them when they have you in their sights. Go Wendy!

I have heard the Democratic Party thinks there is a chance of turning Texas blue in 2016. Until now I didn’t think it was possible, but if Perry keeps this up the women of Texas just might make it happen! I’ll be one of millions!

  5. “Protect women’s health?!” From what. . .or from whom? Did the Texas legislature make findings that women’s health was in danger? Or was that just presumed? It’s like the fear of nonexistent voter fraud behind photo ID and other voter suppression laws. Same concept.

I am so sick of Evangelists who have attacked (and overrun) government. at way too many levels. Legislative, executive, and even judicial; federal, state, and local. They are an invasive, destructive species if ever there was one. Theirs is the only right, good, and true religion. If they can’t convert the heathen, God has a backup plan. Zealously make sure that there are laws forcing nonbelievers to live as their God intended. After all, righteous old white men know all there is to know about women’s reproductive rights Or lack thereof.

It’s a First Amendment freedom from religion issue. If you are a churchgoing woman and your church prohibits abortion, by all means don’t have one. Nobody will force you to. On the other hand, don’t deprive non-believers of the right to choose. Ironically, the same folks who strongly believe in the “rule of law,” and repeat the Founders’ intent, are the same ones who would violate a rule of law if it doesn’t fit their purposes.

It’s been four decades since Roe v. Wade, and religion continues to rule with a heavy hand and pocketbook. With the ongoing controversy comes an incredible waste of time, effort, and money which could be used much more productively. Wouldn’t it be awesome if the Supreme Court turned the religious right upside down with a 9 – 0 decision stating: “here’s how we ruled 40 years ago, and we have no reason to change our minds — get over it!” Wishful thinking maybe, but t’s time to take our country back.

  6. No words….. Horrific comes to mind but unbelievable. That you for this piece, you here about Texas & Perry on the news but it doesn’t impact you like this piece did. Can’t the Feds step in? No woman should be subjected to such laws.

    1. tesspowell,
I doubt that there is much they can do. I’m sure there will be another abortion case go up to the Supreme Court in four or five years, and there could be relief then. Texas inspires all the landmark supreme Court cases. Roe was a Texas woman. The Lawrence case (sodomy law) was also a Texas case.

      1. Wow! Think of all the women that will be harmed waiting for all that to happen. I hope that’s not the route it has to take, but sounds like it.

  7. Men have no right to legislate on women’s health issues. They have no clue what women deal with, physically and emotionally. The only way we can fix this is by giving women equal representation in Federal and state government. Then maybe we can get some legislation to cut (pun intended) the number of rapes and violent crimes committed by men. That legislation would include the use of a farm tool used on male animals to calm them down. (http://www.valleyvet.com/ct_detail.html?pgguid=30e07683-7b6a-11d5-a192-00b0d0204ae5). If that fails, go biblical and remove their eyes.
