God Is Speaking, But Sarah’s Not Listening

In 2008 John McCain and Sarah Palin lost the election. Palin had previously said that her nomination was part of “God’s Plan.”  She has said God talks to her, and the Holy Spirit whispers to her. In fact Palin has gone so far as to say that she believes there will be “eternal ramifications” for not listening to God’s will.

 

 

Palin’s is either not listening, or not paying attention.

Remember when she said on Oct. 28, 2009 that she would run “If there’s nobody else to do it, then of course I would believe that we should do this. ”

 

On November 11, 2008 she said:

“ We are going to have a 2012. I don’t know who is going to be a part of it.

You know, I have — faith is a very big part of my life. And putting my life in my creator’s hands — this is what I always do. I’m like, OK, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere, this is what I always pray, I’m like, don’t let me miss the open door.

Show me where the open door is. Even if it’s cracked up a little bit, maybe I’ll plow right on through that and maybe prematurely plow through it, but don’t let me miss an open door.

And if there is an open door in ’12 or four years later, and if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I’ll plow through that door.”

On Nov. 17, 2010 Palin said:

“I’m looking at the lay of the land now, and … trying to figure that out, if it’s a good thing for the country, for the discourse, for my family, if it’s a good thing,”

When she was asked “If you ran for president, could you beat Barack Obama?”

“I believe so,” Palin said.

On Feb. 17, 2011 Palin said:

“there is “no one” more qualified to handle the demands of the presidency than “a woman, a mom,”

Yet, Sarah Palin chose not to run for President. She chose not only to stay out of the race, but the GOP and the Tea Party didn’t ask her to even speak at their conventions and rallies in August. God must have slammed the door in her face. He didn’t want her to be the President. He must not have wanted Mitt Romney to win the election either. However instead of admitting that it was “God’s will” that Obama should win re-election, Palin posted a comment on her Facebook page quoting 2 Corinthians 4:8, as if to suggest that God intended to “persecute” the country, by an Obama win. She explained that this election was “not a rejection of conservatism.” Palin told conservatives to “hol tight to 2 Corinthisans 4: 8” and then quoted that passage:

“We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted but not forsaken, struck down, but not destroyed.” – 2 Corinthians 4:8-9.

 

Palin doesn’t seem to understand this passage in scripture. Here is the complete passage. The passage from Corinthians makes reference to eternal life, but only after death.  The problem is that nobody died Tuesday night.  Palin’s candidate simply lost the election, as she and John did in 2008. The liberals, who constituted the majority of the voters in this country, were reading a different passage from Corinthians yesterday. We were reading: :

 

1 Cor 15:57:

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

President Obama may have been reading Psalm 89:23 after his victory speech late Tuesday night :

“ And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.”

It’s not clear that Palin has ever read the Bible,…or any books, magazines, or newspapers.

 

Perhaps she should leave the quoting from the Bible to the preachers, and just keep her mouth shut. At least she would only look like a fool, but not sound like one too.
