Hey Sarah! How’s That Common-Sense-Conservatism Workin For Ya?

Sarah Palin is perplexed at the outcome of the 2012 election.   Given the many foolish things she has said and done over the last four years, maybe it’s not surprising that she doesn’t understand why the majority of Americans wouldn’t vote for Newt Gingrich, her original candidate, or her 2nd choice, Mitt Romney. Guess what Sarah! You don’t represent the majority of women in this country. In 2008, the largest demographic voting for Obama was women. 35,900,000 women voted for Obama in 2008.  They didn’t vote for you.   In 2012 women again carried the election for Obama with a gender gap of 55% women to 43% men. Women cared that Romney either didn’t even know about the Lilly Ledbetter Act, saying he’d get back to us on that, or he said he didn’t have any “Plans” to repeal it. Romney was not a supporter of women when he was Governor.  When he left office there were fewer women in his administration that when he took office. Romney supported the notion that “personhood” occurs when fertilization occurs which would have the effect of banning birth control. When Romney chose Paul Ryan, Romney had to know that Ryan sponsored the “forcible rape” bill with Todd Akin. Whenever Romney was asked about a woman’s issue, he tried to change the subject away from women’s issues, and even appeared to mock those issues at times.

Sarah ifyou still don’t understand, try to wrap your head around this:

1. Joe Donnelly won the Senate seat in Indiana.  Joe was the Democrat running against Mourdock.  You remember Mourdock? He’s the one you endorsed.  You remember he’s the one who won the battle against Senator Lugar, who was the incumbent Senator that had served 35 years, and was voted by Time magazine as one of the 10 best Senators.  Mourdock is the one who said that if a woman got pregnant as a result of a rape, it was God’s will; God intended that the pregnancy should happen; and that the pregnancy is a “gift.”

2. Todd Akin is the Tea Party candidate who said that a woman can “shut that whole thing down” if she is really raped and doesn’t want to get pregnant.

Mr. Akin said that God doesn’t make mistakes, so clearly God has demonstrated that he doesn’t want these “common sense conservatives” in office. God isn’t perplexed! Maybe you should have a long talk with God tonight and ask him to explain this to you so you won’t be perplexed.

3. Allen West also is another “common sense conservative” who lost. He has been described as a “right-wing-attack dog.” You remember him, he’s the one who said that “women” are “neutering American men.” He also called Debbie Wasserman Schultz “vile,” “despicable,” and “not a Lady.”

Sarah, don’t be perplexed any longer about why women in America would never vote for Mitt Romney. If there is anything you should be perplexed about it is why your husband has never denied that he was a pimp!

I am glad that the majority of Americans knows competence when they voted President Obama back to office…now to get these right wing nut cases to the nearest padded cell block…the crimes that have been committed must be vindicated in a courtroom to bring settlement to all concerned…both legally and socially…bring a close to that era of politics!!!

      1. Just Saying,
Iwish there would be a lawsuit, but the truth is that they lost the election, and that’s the best result we could ever hope for. Americans don’t like to be associated with “losers” and thus if they don’t change their message, and distance themselves from these nut cases, they will continue to lose.

  3. Almost 36 million women see that President Obama will stand up for everyone in this country. Too bad Sarah doesn’t have the common sense to support anyone besides her self. (And the family pimping business)

  4. Actually, I am perplexed that the Tea Partiers are claiming that if the Republicans had picked a truly conservative person to run, that they’d have won by a landslide. Slightly OT, I know but Sarah & the Tea Partiers seem to be so out of touch with the majority of the country. If one didn’t vote for Mitt, why on God’s green earth would one have even had a wisp of a thought about voting for a Tea Partier. I kind of wish the Republicans would run a Tea Party candidate. It would be like Christine O’Donnell in Delaware & Sharon Angle in Nevada all over again. Sliced & Diced! Maybe that would produce a dose of reality – but I doubt it.

  5. If you can get the UK version of You tube do a search for a series of sketches by Kenny Everett (sadly dead) called Cupid Stunt and although the accent comes and goes, hear the tone of voice and ask yourself – does it remind me of anyone?

  6. As a true conservative, let me help with this perplexity. A conservative leaves a minimal footprint (from the same worn pair of shoes) on the land, leaves things better (and not dented) than when they arrived, and respects the resources (instead of shooting them from a plane) of the planet. Republicans are not conservatives. They are the most wasteful creatures on the planet. How many houses and square feet of unused space do they take up? Granted, Romney’s 3 or 4 places comes nowhere near McCain’s 8 or 9 “residences.” But Mitt has a home elevator for his West Coast rides. A true conservative is happy with the unique body and face God gave him or her. A true conservative gives back to the land and community and shares willingly, especially with those in need.

There is no common sense or conserving in Republican conservatism. They gave the voters overindulgent, wasteful, conspicuous consumers like McCain and Palin and Romney and Ryan. Someone living payday to payday, like most Americans, cannot relate to this lifestyle. The garden on the White House lawn is one of the the greatest symbols of true conservatism.

    1. aj,
Great observations! My dad had a garden during the depression in which he grew the food his family ate when his mother had to go to work to make a living because my grandfather was in a hospital with TB, and there were five children who were hungry. My dad was a small business owner and symbolized the American Dream. He too was a conservative. I admired him and although he is gone, I think of him often. He had courage and worked hard every day of his life to provide for his family. When I see what the Republican Party has become, I’m ashamed, and he would be too!
