President Obama Calls Sandra Fluke

President Obama place a phone call to Sandra Fluke today to convey his appreciation to Ms. Fluke for her courage in offering her testimony before Congress.  He made a point of mentioning to Ms. Fluke that her parents would be very proud of her.  This was especially important to her, since Limbaugh mentioned in a second show how embarrassed her parents should be.  The amazing thing is that Limbaugh heard about the President’s call, and again repeated his feelings that Ms. Fluke’s parents should be embarrassed.  Rush Limbaugh is not sorry for his remarks.  He is not embarrassed by his lack of understanding of how birth control pills work.  He is not apologizing for calling Ms. Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute.”  He is only repeating his remarks, and making them more hurtful.  I hope Ms. Fluke does sue him for slander!

  1. HE SHOULD BE REMOVED RIGHT NOW FROM HIS VILE RADIO STATION. FIRED! Who would marry such a vile human being? That money must mean hella of alot to wife #4. You couldn’t pay me a ENOUGH IN TRILLION DOLLARS to even think to go near the disgusting pig. Let alone…or is he paying HIS OWN SLUT MILLIONS to have sex with him? So does he record his slut too TO GET HIS MONEY’S WORTH? I would so ashamed if I was his wife …and embarassed to the hilt AND LEAVE THE COUNTRY!

Me too! I’m not sure he has sex with his wife, but may simply be using her to create the appearance of heterosexuality.

    Other women have higher standards.

The boycott of his sponsors is getting attention on HP – people are getting behind it. This will not stop today or tomorrow. All of these sponsors are going to hear about this.

  4. This “moral outrage” from a President who at one time called Sarah Palin a pig, with lipstick!

Limbaugh may be a cad and a bounder, but I haven’t yet seen him make a hypocrite of himself, as has Mr.Obama.

    2. Lipstick on a pig is an well-used political idiom. McCain used it in reference to a policy supported by Hilary Clinton. He also used a pig-related idiom in reference to Romney.

Obama had used the idiom before to discuss other policies he disagreed with

Obama did not call Palin a pig. As usual Palin played the victim.

On the other hand, Palin did unmistakenly and directly compare herself to a dog.

  5. I was in the very first Male/Female Basic Training in Fort McClellan Alabama in 1979. It was so historic that Pres Ford came to our graduation! The whole basic training we were told that YOU are setting the example for women coming next, if this doesn’t work, then that will be on your shoulders to live with. PROVE it to the men and the country that women CAN do everything a man can do, including the military basic training! When we were given the option to do girl push ups or men push up, we ALL choose the mens push ups to prove we could keep up (and sometimes exceed) the men! Let me tell you, there were PLENTY of drill Sergeant’s and other high ups on base that felt women would prove to be too distracting and that women should be separated from the men at all times and tried to sabotage us at every step….

    Then it got worse…

    1979.
    18 years old.
    The Army.
Germany, sent out to the field for the first time.
The only woman and 1500 men.
I was the Medic, they were Engineers.
Alone, in the dark being watched, only I didn’t know
Vilseck, Germany after two weeks without a shower, we were allowed to go to Tent city for 2 days.
Much Celebrating. Much Drinking. After showers the partying started.
    I was invited.
    A cute boy
    Fun
    free drinks
    more drinks
    Something wrong….
    Room spinning
    Dizzy
    can’t walk
    being carried
    pass out
    wake up
    can’t move
    tied up
    can’t talk
    gag in mouth
    voices
    someone on me
    wet between the legs
    laughter
    another body on me
    tears
    another body
    all night
    over and over again
    how many?
    Don’t know
    too many
    over and over again
    thrusting
    sweaty
    pawing
    pain
    tearing
    more laughter
    in and out of conscience
    how many?
    could be twenty
    could be a hundred
    all ranks
    all sizes
    all ages
    all penises
    all thrusting
    all sweating
    lots of pain
    smell of greasy tent
    smell of booze
    smell of tobacco
    smell of man sweat
    smell of semen
    smell of sex
    all thrusting
    all groping
    all squeezing
    all pawing
only one, who when he saw my tears, stopped in his tracks
But he walked out, and another came in to take his place
    over and over again
    no help
    none in sight
    all night long
    in and out of reality
    in and out of dreams
    more body’s
    more men
    more thrusting
    how many hours?
finally the sweet release of awareness
    awakening
    naked
    in the showers
    bruises and blood everywhere
    Pain
    oh my God the pain
    all consuming pain
    my clothing in a pile
    scrub
    scrub
    scrub
    scrub
    scrub
    scrub
    scrub
    scrub
    water is cold
    scrub some more
    scrub
    scrub
    scrub
    scrub
    scrub
    scrub
    scrub
    scrub
    put on uniform
met at door, by commanding Officer
    stern words about MY behavior
told if I talked, it would be MY fault
    Threatened with prison for “enticing”
    handed orders to be transfered
    Told to pack my bags
    Transportation waiting
    Warned again
    If you talk, you die
    or worse
watching blindly as the trees roll by
    curling up inside of me
    hiding the pain
    hoping the pain will fade
    as the bruises do
    can’t walk, can’t sit, can’t take a shit
    blaming myself
    Others have
    so why not me?
    Guilt
    it weighs on a mind
    remembering what was said
    silence it is my friend
    denial
    lock the pain away
    never talk they said
    never talk I did
The pain it became my friend
To this day, it never ends.

    1. Jacque,
I am overwhelmed! I know this happens but we like to pretend it doesn’t! Words are insufficient to describe my sorrow for what happened to you! This should be shared! Would you allow me to submit this to other sources so that it might be known by more people. Just last night I was watching Meg Ryan, and Denzel Washington, in Courage under Fire, and thinking about the limited progress women have made. My two daughters who are 18 and 20 think I am just radical in talking about women’s rights, and the importance of our fight! Yet they don’t know what it was really like for women, and we must educate them. I will have both read your poem today! women around the country need to read this and be reminded of what we must fight to end. The war against women is being waged today, by Americans! To think that all you wanted to do was to serve your country, and you were abused in this horrific way by the very people that should have appreciated your sacrifice. When Sarah Palin “thanks the military” I wonder if it occurred to her for even a minute that not all acts of the military are honorable, especially in their dealing with women?

Please consider letting me share this with others. Thank you for sharing this with us, and you will be in my prayers.
