People and Animals in Alaska Dislike Sarah Palin

Since we were first introduced to Sarah Palin, it was clear that she liked hunting. Although, hunting moose for chili is far different than the brutal and senseless slaughter of animals.

As early as 2007 Palin was associated with killing animals en mass as the following examples illustrate:

1.) Palin offered a bounty of $150 for each left front leg of freshly killed wolves

2) Palin promoted aerial hunting of wolves even though Alaskans voted twice to ban it

3.) Palin used $400,000 of state money to fund a propaganda campaign in support of aerial hunting

4.) Palin believes man-made global warming is a farce

5.) Palin strongly supports drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

6) Palin is a champion for big oil and her slogan has become “drill, baby, drill!”

7.) Palin sued the federal government to prevent listing the polar bear as an endangered species

8.) Palin sued the federal government over listing Cook Inlet beluga whale as an endangered species

The Alaska Board of Game makes most wildlife decisions in Alaska.  The board is comprised entirely of trophy hunters, and not a single wildlife biologist or scientist is a member.  Also lacking is any representation from Alaska’s wildlife viewing and tourism industry.  The most important decisions about wildlife in Alaska are decided by ignorant sport hunters with a total disregard for science.  Palin even appointed her former middle school basketball coach to the board.

And who can forget the Thanksgiving video in which Palin said that you need a little bit of levity in regards to work, as a turkey was be-headed behind her.    Once again we were confronted with the fact that Palin was “mean spirited” and seemed to lack any regard for animals.  What bothered me most was that Palin seemed proud of killing animals and lacked any regard for the native wildlife of Alaska.

The animals have no voice, but there are those of us opposed to Palin have made our voices heard.  When Palin resigned as Governor of Alaska, her approval ratings were on a steady decline.  She was elected with an 89% approval rating, and by the time she resigned as Governor, her approval rating had dropped to an all-time low of 54%. In my own experience, I have sold more copies of Rebuttal to the Rogue to bookstores in Alaska than any other state.  I seem to have more readers of this blog from Alaska, than anywhere else.  Now a new poll by Rasmusen shows that Palin’s popularity among the people who know her best has fallen again, with just 41% of the people in Alaska indicating they would vote for Palin for President.

It seems that Palin has fallen from favor with the animals and the people of Alaska.  I have a lot of respect for both the animals and the people of Alaska.

  1. Palin sees wildlife’s place as being beside her mashed potatoes. Of course, most of her food has to be processed overseas, so it takes a village to decorate her potatoes.

It’s a shame that the ex-governor of one of the most beautiful states in the nation had so little regard for its treasures.

    1. jcos, I love your characterization of the animals in Alaska as its “treasures”. Nothing man made rivals in comparison to the treasure of the animals in Alaska. Malia

  2. I was just watching Flip Wilson as Geraldine. I don’t know if anyone recalls Geraldine Jones, and “The Devil made me do it.”?

Well Geraldine sashays into Broadway Joe Namaths gym. Geraldine asks Joe to hang up her furn coat (fit for $Palin in one of her rock star moods.) and says, “BE Careful, it ain’t dead yet. He tried to bite me this morning.”

Wouldn’t that be poetic justice if somewhere along the line, a wolf, or a grizzley, or a barracuda does end up biting her.

Well, I hope you’re talking only about those who sit on the committee you refer to, since not all hunters are ignorant, far from it.

Could you please tell me if “Rebuttal to The Rogue” is at Barnes and Noble or another bookstore? I would very much like to purchase it. Thank you.

  7. Malia: I have been coming to your blog for quite awhile now, but I missed this particular post. I am a Native (indigenous) person from Alaska – born and spent most of my life there. I no longer live there because of people like sarah palin. It simply hurt my heart too much to have to live in this vast, magnificent land and watch its fragile environment be trashed and polluted by “outsider’s” – especially our remote villages. Yes, modern life came to us, but at a great price in the loss of so much of what was intrinsically our basic yet happy survival – our cultural and subsistence ways of living. It has deteriorated badly and continues to do so. I could list ALL the ways, but not in this little box.
When I say “trashed and polluted”, I am not only talking about the environment but the entire state system of government, from the top down to the lowest persons and groups within that system. It has always marginalized, dehumanized and left out our Alaska Natives tribes (governments) and those of us who were included – fewer always than any kind of majority – were very compromised and sold-out to the system. If my mother was alive today, I could only tell her its got even worse than when she was alive here – when there were signs up in Anchorage that said “No Dogs, Phillipino’s or Natives Allowed”. A time when our children were literally forced to attend Boarding schools where punishments were severe for just speaking our own languages. I am not fluent at all in my own Athabascan (Dene) language because our parents feared those punishments would come down on us as well. There are as many stories as there are Native peoples alive today(and much more who did not live to tell) as testament to this state’s malignant outside influence ala the sarah palin’s of this state. BTW: sarah palin is not indigenous nor a bonafide dictionary described “native” of this state. Her family like most of the non-native people running things here, are transplant’s from other lower 48 states.
To the tribal people of the state of Alaska, sarah palin is poison and sought to undo all the massive strides we literally had to fight for as basic human rights in our state, starting with our tribal governments – Sovereignty and right up there in importance, the Child Welfare System that continues to steal our children and place them out of culture when there is a Federal Law that protects just this very thing. Yes, many others came before her in attempts to wipe out the gains we had fought so hard to re-establish, but her efforts were the most blatant and the most racist.
We have been aware of the kind of person we were dealing with in palin from the outset, but as usual, our voices not heard or listened to. It could never be overstated how dangerous she and her supporter’s are to ALL living beings – and we as Indigenous tribal peoples are horrified and beyond disgusted with her treatment/policies instigated against our four-legged relatives and their meaning in our subsistence way of life. Subsistence was never a separate entity apart from our cultures and our daily way of life. They were our equals – a part of our spirituality and one of the most important beings for our survival’s. I want to scream and holler every time I read about what sarah palin did (would continue to do) to our magnificent creatures whom we loved and do love for all the reasons that cannot be stated in this little box. She has not an iota of understanding on anything to do with our Native cultures. Todd was long since “assimilated” into a white man who does not fish for living but commercial fishes for money and gain from that. Most of our Native people cannot afford set-net sites because they are in the thousands upon thousands of dollars to get such a privilege. They are common grifters in our eyes. They are frauds.
I was very glad to see this commentary. Even though it hurt to read it. More and more people must understand who the palin’s really are as human beings. They are totally corrupted with no one’s good but their own in their sights. We’ve known and seen through them from the beginning – frustrated beyond belief that they have gotten away with so much criminal behavior’s and the taking of so many basic rights under the guise of their phony patriotism. Especially ours and the ongoing neglect we endure at the hands of people just like them. They represent exactly what is so inherently wrong with this country. Lying, corrupted, thieving, uneducated, unwilling to be taught, low, base, cunning, sly, devious, and willing to sacrifice others in the most detrimental of ways, i.e., suppression, oppression, tyrannical, imperialistic, religiously fanatic in the vein of taliban-ism, and among all the descriptions, without conscience for wrongdoing; in a word, truly psychopathic. Because the american media has no longer any stomach for truth, integrity, fairness, nor objective inquiry of minds, one sarah palin (and ALL her ilk, has been allowed to become a “fact on the ground”. They have kidnapped all that true democracy has intended and which this country has supposedly fought for and under and to which we now see so degraded as to bring a ruin this country has never yet experienced. We, as Native peoples have already and from the beginning suffered this ruin. Perhaps it is america’s karma that is coming back on itself for the grievous and great harms done by people like sarah palin. She really has been with you all along. Until now, there were enough good hearted people to keep this American boat afloat with its goals and its democratic high road intact as the world’s super power. Just this past century alone has seen the worst of its corruptions and bred more and more people like the palin’s – has brought it to a low of uncountable – known and unknown indictments against its policies, societal disintegration and its overall ways.

What I really wanted to say was that we have felt somewhat heartened by this new media of “blog” that has become an alternative to the falseness that the mainstream media promotes and spews out. It is all kudos to you who have the courage to print and to say outright the details of your facts and in depth research that we so have yearned to see in our deep deep frustration at unrequited justice for truth to come out about sarah palin and her family in Alaska. She is poison to us and to all of this country and you who blog about this truth have all due respect and a standing ovation for those of us who have been brushed aside and voiceless. I personally thank you Malia and all the Alaska bloggers who have succeeded in pulling the rocks off the snake to expose the danger therein. Thank you for this post.

    1. Deennaa,
Thank you for reading and for your comment. I have been to Alaska, three times, and each time I marvel at the beauty and abhor people who would destroy it, and/or fail to appreciate it. I have had the luxury of traveling to many places in the world, and by far the places that I prefer are the places where you find natural beauty, in the environment and in the animals. Palin uses and abuses people just like she does the animals of Alaska. There is a picture someone sent me on this blog of Palin as a child with a dead baby bear cub. It was such a perfect example of Palin’s lack of respect for natural beauty and the wonder of Alaskan animals.

I am thrilled that you are part of our community, and appreciate any help you can give to help get the word out. Be sure you visit http://www.justsaynotobs.com, which is a web site you can refer your Republican-leaning friends to make sure they know what fellow Republicans, and Sarah Palin herself, have said about Sarah Palin. 1. Malia: Thank you for your warm response. I did put that website in my favorites a while back and, yes, I do send it around any chance I get. I will continue to do that. I had to smile at your “Republican-leaning friends” description as I am not democrat or republican but consider myself as an “Independent”. Yet, you are so right, I do have friends that can be described just so. I live in a Pacific Northwest state that is considered a “red state”, but I consider it rather schizophrenic as there seem to be as many progressives as there are regressor’s, (if there is such a word) i.e., right wing republican’s. I just call it the “half n half” state. I’ve had to burst a few bubbles regarding sarah palin. What helps in these cases is that I am a Native of Alaska in both senses of the word and a lifelong resident (except for short Outside stints of living and getting my education) of Alaska which most of those people who support palin do not rebut when I clue them in because THEY are not from Alaska. They know they are exposed just by the fact that they then can not say they REALLY know her like a true Alaskan would. That’s the more sane ones anyway. Every chance I get I will tell who the real sarah palin is. Like it or not. Of course the crazies never like it. I say too bad. Every chance I get to shake their tree I do because at some point in the future it will have to become clear to these people that they have been totally mislead and bamboozled. They will have to grow up emotionally at some point. Or not. There will always be those in the “not” category. If it were not for you and the rest of the bloggers devoted to clearing out her infestation of lies and deceptions, that point of exposing her would be way down the road and a heap of disaster’s so much more profound than already is. In my personal opinion, I believe that along with the pregnancy hoax that there should be an in-depth investigation into the airplane death of Curtis Menard Jr. That one really got lost in the pile of destruction’s that lay beneath everything else. No matter what, I, many of my people and people from everywhere, await the day of her total downfall and the disappearance of her name and person from ANY discourse anywhere. No matter how that manifests itself – whether from her own behaviors or from THE expose of any of her major lies and horrid deeds.

At any rate, thank you for welcoming me and keep up your great research and blogging. Love the commentary section too – its so civilized compared to pro you-know-who people.

Thanks for being a part of our community! I share your amazement that more investigation was not undertaken on the Curtis Menard “accident”. I want to be careful about what I say, but suffice it to say that I think there is still a mystery surrounding his death. My first clue came from Trailblazer, and Iam still asking questions. Malia

  8. I completely understand your taking care on the Menard “accident”. I am sure there are a lot of others who feel the same way. It is my opinion that there is a grave injustice that is unrequited in that tragedy in the lack of investigation and that he lost his life. There was another well known politician in Alaska who along with some other people went missing in a small aircraft and have never been found. I knew his son Nick Begich. He worked a time as our tribal administrator. He had his own opinion’s that went beyond what was written in the news; however, nothing but nothing has really been divulged re the incident. This was quite a few years ago. American (and others too) politics is so down, dirty ugly and dangerous. Unfortunately, its a place sarah palin feels perfectly at home in. I’ve seen it up close and personal. Its vile and I used the term “rogue” before sarah palin even knew how to spell the word, to describe Alaskan politics & its politicians. She doesn’t really understand the term or she wouldn’t have used it to describe herself. But there you are – a perfect example of her total self-(un)awareness. BTW: The man who was former CEO of Veco Corporation (Oil field services) here, Bill Allen (indicted & pled guilty to tax violations, conspiracy, bribery, among other things, got a personal home visit from sarah palin before she ran for governor of Alaska – the brief brief & then disappeared public comment on this stated she drove from Wasilla to his home in Anchorage to have a little wine and chat. She was “plowing” through all the open doors available to clawing, scheming, rabidly power hungry climbers. I believe she picked up on some very interesting tidbits for herself. But then no one should be surprised – except now in retrospect. Bill Allen is in prison. I just think hardly anyone knows of that little under the cover of darkness home visit to the infamous and very well known in Alaska shyster of rich rich means. Just my opinion, but those paying attention can see the same adjectives surrounding her that describes Allen’s criminal indictment’s. I always like to think we are all on the verge of complete uncovering of ALL her past. I honestly don’t have the confidence that the Dunn book and Joe McGuiness’s (sp) book will do that completely. I’m hoping against hope at any rate. I can only say that her Karma is so black that it eats her up, spits her out & finishes her bogus lying public life she has spat upon everyone in this country – including her rabid unthinking followers.

We have to keep asking questions & glad to hear you feel the same. In the future, I will try to write shorter. Its something I work on, but I’m a researcher, educator and social worker. My writing has to be so damned in-depth! Even I don’t appreciate it. Keep up your great work. I love it.

There is even more to be fearful of. These stories are just a couple of the ones that I think about:

http://www.adn.com/2009/04/07/751917/another-fire-considered-suspicious.html. But the one that is particularly worrisome is this one. It bothers me because the woman was in bed when she was burned, and her two dogs died next to the bed. If it was an accidental fire, I could imagine the woman being overcome by the smoke and almost dying in bed, but I can’t imagine the dogs sleeping through it, and just laying next to the bed, instead of trying to get out of the house. the paper reads:

“Firefighters found the 54-year-old Miller unconscious and badly burned, but still alive in her Wasilla home Jan. 5. Though a cause has yet to be established, the long-smoldering fire apparently started near a bed on the first floor, burning so hot it charred beams and melted pictures on the wall. Miller’s two dogs died next to her. Miller started out as a neo-natal nurse practitioner but wearied of watching babies die, coworkers said.” From reading the article it appears she was homosexual and had a partner. The combination of having a history as a neo-natal nurse, and being homsexual could have been a “fatal” combination.

  9. Malia,
I’m on the same page with you. I have a personal opinion and belief based upon observation and understanding of the sociopath/psychopath mindset in my work as a professional social worker and my experiences as a human being. I honestly feel that her crimes could include murder and/or murder for hire. She was so willing to ignore our life and death situation when she brought cookies and religious propaganda to our freezing and potentially starving villagers. If it were not for a few good people – the Alaska blogger’s in particular – that scenario of freezing & starvation would have become an actuality. No one asked us what we felt about this – the life and death of our people at the mercy of a state that was run by the cold-blooded sarah palin. Of course she is part of the bigger picture in this country, who in the eyes of so many of our people, believe and feel that the “american way” has lost their way and lost their ability to be called human. I won’t go into that novella here, but suffice it to say that this one creature has displayed her abilities to harm and destroy any who come against her as she imagines or believes. A mind as twisted as hers, will/has/could/would, resort to unimaginable scenario’s to preserve that twisted (un)reality. Like the “Wild Ride” tale. That tale told more than the story of a questionable pregnancy. It also told how she held no value for an unborn human life, notwithstanding her chirpy rebuttal’s to those accusations. It was only the “retarded one” after all. No SANE and REALLY pregnant woman would ever commit such an act as she claimed she did and jeopardize the life of her own baby as she claimed she did in that “tale”. For those who believe her horrendous account, they also have to believe the layers immediately underneath: she was willing to sacrifice all safety for herself, said unborn baby & even the passengers on that airplane. That slams that “pro-life” lie of hers right to the ground. It is not a long shot from ordering baby wolf pups slaughtered (along with her mandated aerial slaughter of adult wolves) right in their den to the starving and freezing human beings. In fact, that is a noted progression in the annals of the psychopathic mind – from animal’s to humans. sarah palin has been pictured with her “animal kills”. That much is public knowledge. She’s bragged about it. Shamelessly and without remorse. Those are incidences the public knows about. No one in Alaska is surprised that those who know things the public does not know, especially in Alaska, are in fear of stepping forward to “set the record(s) straight”. Rightly so. There is no other modus operandi for her but to use her “talents” to bully and instill fear. The bizarre choice of John McCain to put her on a national/world stage has mainly had the benefit for her to hone all her worst traits; the false charm, the lies, the lies, the lies – and you know who the most victimized of the psychopath is, is the ones who know the least about what comes before their face – the ones who accept the “charm” of the psychopath right, and only, at face value. They do not understand this painted on charm and if you attempt and even do correct their information, they will not believe or accept it. This is where her followers sit. In dumb disbelief when the carnivorous one with blood dripping from her teeth sits right in front of them. It is my opinion that like a few other corrupted and crime engaging “high officials”/politicians, she should be wearing an orange jumpsuit instead of those short skirts and naughty monkey’s.

There I go again writing information I am sure you already have. Sorry, I can see your research is really more than excellent and your actions to present them even better. Keep up your so necessary work. You have the support of more than you know.
