When Mike Huckabee was campaigning in 2008 he talked about the importance of truthfulness in a presidential candidate.
He wasn’t talking about the lies of Sarah Palin, but he probably hadn’t heard these yet.

He also addressed the need to raise taxes to reduce debt.
Palin says it is “idiotic” to raise taxes, even for the top 2% of people. Maybe she is in the top 2% of the income bracket so she is thinking of what is best for her, instead of what is best for the country.
Mike Huckabee appears to be coming closer to declaring his intention to run for President.. Michele Bachmann has declared that she is “IN” . Palin seems to be ignoring the polls and is getting closer to announcing her candidacy. All three talk to God; Palin, Huckabee, Bachmann . Even though the Holy Spirit only whispers to Palin, there is no indication that Huckabee or Bachmann have made that contact. Thus if God is sending out conflicting messages, and telling Huckabee, Palin, and Bachmann to run in 2012, maybe the Holy Spirit will be the tie-breaker. All three appear to appeal to the hearts of Republicans rather than to their brains. However only Palin has authored a book, America by Heart, so she maybe she’ll prevail? .
Mike Huckabee attended the Rediscover God in America conference. He promoted the notion that “America should be governed by biblical law,” and that discredited historian David Barton is a genius. David Barton is a “Christian historical revisionist” who contends that “the United States of America is a Christian nation” and the separation of church and state is a “liberal myth.”
HUCKABEE said: “ I don’t know anyone in America who is a more effective communicator [than David Barton.] I just wish that every single young person in America would be able to be under his tutelage and understand something about who we really are as a nation. I almost wish that there would be something like a simultaneous telecast and all Americans would be forced, forced — at gun point no less — to listen to every David Barton message. And I think our country would be better for it. I wish it’d happen.”
Surely the GOP can do better than Huckabee and Palin???
Huckabee is the presidential hopeful who was talking about Bristol Palin Natalie Portman when she said:
“You know Michael, one of the things that’s troubling is that people see a Natalie Portman or some other Hollywood starlet who boasts of, ‘Hey look, you know, we’re having children, we’re not married, but we’re having these children, and they’re doing just fine.’ But there aren’t really a lot of single moms out there who are making millions of dollars every year for being in a movie. And I think it gives a distorted image that yes, not everybody hires nannies, and caretakers, and nurses. Most single moms are very poor, uneducated, can’t get a job, and if it weren’t for government assistance, their kids would be starving to death and never have health care. And that’s the story that we’re not seeing, and it’s unfortunate that we glorify and glamorize the idea of out of children wedlock.
You know, right now, 75 percent of black kids in this country are born out of wedlock. 61 percent of Hispanic kids — across the board, 41 percent of all live births in America are out of wedlock births. And the cost of that is simply staggering.”
Mr. Huckabee failed to give the statistics on the percentage of GOP politicians who have been VP candidates, and whose daughters have had children out of wedlock while a teenage mother.
Hey, here’s a great proposal! Remove Beck from Fox News and remove Palin and Huckabee unless they each declare that they absolutely WILL NOT run for President. Maybe Fox News is too worried about the drop in their ratings to do the ethical thing. Maybe they have already paid Palin, Beck, and Huckabee, but haven’t gotten all the services for which they bargained.
Huckabee has admitted that Palin is wrong…at least about childhood obesity, and the fight waged by Michelle Obama. Maybe he sees her for the fraud she is, and this is just the beginning.
