Happy New Year! On this the first day of the New Year there is reason to be hopeful that politicians in America have realized that voters are disgusted with both Republicans and Democrats and their focus on their own personal interests in re-election, instead of serving the best interests of their constituents. What ever you think about the appropriate measures to address the fiscal cliff, you must agree that there is a need to address the problem and reach some resolution. The Senate has 51 Democratic Senators and a mere 47 Republicans. The House has 234 Republicans and only 201 Democrats. The Senate has approved the package which represents a compromise by both Democrats and Republicans by 89-9. Thus even the majority of Republican Senators approved this compromise. While the package still has to be voted upon by the House, the indication is that it will be approved because the vast majority of Republican Senators voted in favor of the compromise. Now if the House fails to approve the compromise the clear indication is that it will be the result of the intransigence of the Republicans in the House. An unwillingness to compromise is not what the country needs, and is not what we elected our Congressmen and women to do. While both Republicans and Democrats elected our representatives to protect the interests of the people who voted for them, it is clear that by far, the very “best interest” of the country, can only be served by reaching a compromise. We’ll know soon is the House Republicans are looking out for America’s best interests.

I’m sorry..but I can’t blame both parties. This is all the work of the GOP and everyone can see it for what it is and what they are. The audacity to blame our president for being OBSESSED with raising taxes on the rich. The whole while THE GOP HAS BEEN WITHOUT SHAME SHOWING HOW OBSESSED THEY ARE ..HAVE BEEN ..AND ALWAYS WILL BE PROTECTING THE WEALTHY/CORPORATIONS & KOCH BROS WEALTH! Their constituency and us? Fkm! And yet the right will still vote republican after all this..they will still vote for the party of obstructionists. Until they’re constituency is a dying starving breed will they ever get it? And even then. They will blame Obama and deny that their party of traitors to them and this country never happened. Just like they deny bush never caused the financial crisis we’re still trying to buy our way out of. What will it take for these people to admit the truth so our country can prosper?
