CIP just sent us this link, which announces an ethics claim set to be filed today against Mitt Romney. According to the story, Ann Romney, through her “blind trust,” partnered with Mitt’s key donor, billionaire Paul Sincer, who owns a controlling interest in Delphi Auto. According to the charges the Romneys and Singer positioned themselves to buy stock valued at 67 cents per share, which later had a value of over $30.00 per share. Singer’s hedge fund profited over One Billion Dollars, and the Romneys added tens of millions to their net worth statement. This profit was made at the expense of tax payers as a result of the auto bailout.
Please make sure everyone you know who plans on voting has a copy of this story.
Thanks CIP for the link!
UPDATE:
Huffington Post reports that the complaint is scheduled to be filed today and alleges that inspite of the Ethics in Government Act, whichrequires presidential candidates to disclose their personal finances, Mitt Romney failed to disclose personal gains of at least $15.3 million from the auto bailout. Mitt Romney is a pathetic candidate for President, and the Republican Party should be ashamed!

Sadly, I think the picture says it all. The people I know that are voting Republican this year just completely close their ears when I start bringing any Romeny faults up.
I checked out uaw.org to confirm this report and the press conference is scheduled for 2pm Toledo time today.

Will be interesting to see if this makes the national news/media. Romney is as corrupt as they come and does not deserve being elected to the White House.

Millie,
Surely if it is filed today it will make headlines this afternoon?!

Thanks for posting on this, Malia.
I hope it will be on all the news channels asap, since the election is only a few days away.
I can’t believe there are still people out there who will vote for him, despite this new airing of his despicable, predatory, unethical behavior.
Romney is not out to help anyone but himself…to free money on the backs of the working class.

jk,
I’ll be watching all the channels tonight, to see if they report on this, but judging from the last hour on the internet, I predict it will make all the channels tonight.

I agree that it seems strange that anyone with a functioning brain could support this awful man. Everything that comes out – just points to the fact that he is even worse than we all first thought.
Let’s face it – racism is deep in this country. The anger directed towards our President – the vitriol – the hatred – has one and ONLY one origin – a deep seated racial hatred for African Americans.
Considering that most of the TeaBaggers are old angry white men – perhaps when they all are gone, our country can be recognized for the melting pot that we have always been. Diversity builds strength. These TeaBagging fruitcakes need to STFU and go back to their trailer parks on the Medicare-Paid Hoverchairs and cash their SS checks.
Bloodsucking old TeaBigots.

shondi99,
There is so much trash on Romney that I’m even wondering why bigots would favor Romney. I’d think they’d just stay home and not vote!

What always amazes me regarding racism throughout our nation – as it relates to our wonderful President is that everyone forgets the man is half white!! Just like us!!!
I think he is going to win in a landslide!!

Driving around our area, which is largely rural and not wealthy, I am constantly amazed at the number of Romney/Ryan yard signs that I see on dilapidated old farm properties. I know that in 2004 these people were motivated by their fear of the “death tax” (known to all rational people as the estate tax) that these property owners’ families would never have to pay. I am in awe of how the GOP manages to pull the wool over the eyes of so many Americans. These idiots with their Romney/Ryan signs are part of the 47% that Romney wrote off a long time ago.

Beaglemom,
CNN is just reporting that rural voters in Colorado are favoring Romney. Unbelievable that they are primarily the people who make up the 47%!

Huffington Post is on it.
“The United Auto Workers (UAW), the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), and other groups plan to file an ethics complaint against Mitt Romney for allegedly failing to disclose his profits from the auto bailout, the UAW has told The Huffington Post.”

From the UAW website:
“A coalition of community, labor and good-government organizations is calling on the U.S. Office of Government Ethics to investigate GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney for noncompliance with the Ethics in Government Act and compel him to either disclose his investments or divest them.”

President Obama is now ahead by 32 pts. in the State of Massachusetts where Romney served one term as governor. That should tell voters something!! He has a horrible record there as governor!

My brother Mitt has some information about his religion and his own beliefs. He doesn’t talk about this much to those not already in the cult. It will probably be a surprise to learn what Mitt really believes. “The world will be reigned in two places Jerusalem and Missouri.”
The video is mislabeled by the poster, it dates from 2007. The radio host is Jan Mickelson and the station is WHO in Iowa.

This clip surely confirms that Romney is not presidential and can’t have a calm discussion with any adversary.

This was transcribed by a comment poster at FreeRepublic. Note the date. I think it is reasonably accurate.
By the way, imho the host is an even bigger a$$hole than Mitt. That takes some doing.

My regret is that this suit came so late in the election process. Maybe this was intended as an “October Surprise”, but it’s now lost in the news of Hurricane Sandy damage.

BW,
Given my history with Ethics Complaints, I think they knew there would not be a resolution before the election, so the most they could hope for was a reminder of this right before the election.

Thanks , I’ve just been looking for info about this topic for a while and yours is the best I have found out so far. But, what in regards to the bottom line? Are you sure concerning the source?|What i do not realize is in reality how you are no longer really a lot more well-favored than you may be now. You’re very intelligent.

costa breve barcelona,
Thanks for reading, and for your vote of confidence. Since Romney lost last night I don’t think we will hear anything further regarding this ethics complaint, as they didn’t allege anything illegal, only unethical, and it would only be unethical if he’d won, or was still campaigning.
