In yet another attack on President Obama, Sarah Palin was vicious in her condemnation of the President in her recent interview on Fox. Here is the actual interview of Palin. The relevant portion of the transcript of the Palin interview is as follows:
VAN SUSTEREN: Bob Woodward says the sequestration was his administration’s idea
PALIN: They started it! They’re the ones who came up with the idea! They’re the ones who sold it to Congress! And now they’re trying to push it off on Congress!
PALIN: And “they” is Barack Obama as an individual told the American people last night that it was just a proposal of Congress’s and it wasn’t going to happen. It’s a law. He signed it.
He has no respect for the different branches of government, for the Constitution that mandates that he, as the executive, will fulfill the will of the people via Congress. And last night, you know, one thing after another with the false charges and false claims. Romney could not keep up with all the untruths, with the lies. So don’t be surprised on this Libya attack, too, that things aren’t as they had appeared for those weeks.
VAN SUSTEREN: Governor, thank you.
PALIN: Thank you so much, Greta.
Obama never said sequestration was just a proposal, he said it wouldn’t happen. Here is the actual footage:
So what is sequestration? It is the name given to mandatory cuts to federal programs; it is a prohibition for Congress from spending money that has now been prohibited from being spent. In essence money is being “sequestered” or taken away from federal agencies.
In August Obama signed the Sequestration Transparency Act which requires his administration to detail just how painful the sequester’s cuts would be. The bill was passed unanimously by the Senate, and an almost unanimous vote in the House of 414-2. According to the bill the Obama administration must lay out specifics about the $1.2 trillion in cuts to domestic and defense programs that will take place at the start of 2013 if Congress is unable to agree on another deficit-reduction plan before the end of the year. Jim Hensarling(“”R-Texas), the House Conference Chairman, applauded the signing of the bill by Obama saying, “[t]he American people deserve to know how their commander-in-chief intends to implement half a trillion dollars in cuts to our national security which his own Secretary of Defense compared to ‘shooting ourselves in the head.’”
The co-chair of the supercommittee, Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), said the law “will make sure that every member of Congress and the public understands the impact of sequestration, as well as the need to replace both the defense and non defense cuts in a balanced and bipartisan way.” Thus the statement by Obama that sequestration would never happen, was clearly a strong statement by Obama that he would guarantee a resolution would occur, not a declaration that the bill did not exist.
Fact checkers agreed that while this declaration committing to a resolution of the budget impasse between Democrats and Republicans is new for the President, it is not inaccurate. David Plouffe explained that “everyone in “Washington agrees that sequester “should not happen.”
Thus Sarah Palin has attacked the President of the United States for declaring that compromise would be forthcoming. While the Senate, the House, and the President are working to limit the increase of the deficit, and find a compromise to ensure that the debt is not increased, Sarah Palin creates more animosity between the parties by calling Obama a liar. Instead of encouraging more cooperation between the President and lawmakers, Palin not only adds fuel to the fire, but starts a fire where none existed. By the passage of the sequestration bill almost unanimously by Congress, and signing the bill into law by the President, there is unanimous recognition by all parties that we must face, head on, the challenges of reducing the federal deficit. It is easy for the quitter to foster animosity and encourage an impasse between Congress and the President, but that doesn’t help the American people, and only serves to make it less likely that a resolution will be reached. Palin desires failure of President Obama, even if it means disastrous consequences for the American people. Instead of being part of the solution, Sarah Palin quit her elected position as Governor, and has now taken the self-appointed position as trouble-maker. A “terrorist” is defined as a person who creates fear and promotes violence. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/terrorist Instead of working toward resolution of the overwhelming financial crisis facing the entire country, Sarah Palin continues to widen the gap between the parties. Instead of encouraging resolution, she inspires revolution. The Republican Party and the Tea Party have recognized the inappropriateness of her vitriolic ranting, and refused to give her a voice at their conventions and rallies. Fox News must refrain from giving her a national platform from which to spew her destructive diatribes.

I’m amazed that anyone is left listening to her? Palin has virtually disappeared ever since Romney and the RNC made it clear that she wasn’t wanted at the Convention. Since then she has just been a tiny voice talking to Greta. Period.
BTW, Malia, I’m just waiting for Sarah to attack Ann Coulter for calling Obama a “retard.” SP undoubtedly agrees, but she has also come out against any Dem using bad language about special needs people. The horns of a dilemma: be consistent and attack Coulter or let it go because Coulter is such a vicious b–ch?

BW,
I think she hates Obama more than she loves Trig, so I predict we won’t hear a peep out of her about Coulter’s comments.

Dear Patriot:
As you know, Sarah Palin is the Antichrist with a Marxist, Leninist, Socialist, Communist, Liberal, Muslim, Terrorist, Lesbian agenda. She is a pro-abortion activist who sits on the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood. She was born in Kenya or somewhere else in the County of Africa. She wants to take away our guns and sell them to Mexican drug cartels. She frequently “pals around” with her North Korean allies, and has strong ties to Russia because she can see it from her house. She is trying to take away our freedom and liberty, and destroy our American way of life. She is trying to corrupt our precious bodily fluids with fluoridation. Etc., etc., etc.

Nah. Sarah Palin is nowhere near as interesting as that.
She’s the embodiment of reality teevee culture applied to politics. She’s over-inflated, under-educated, intellectually incurious, self-centered, and fame hungry.
Sarah Palin’s agenda is getting more money and face time for herself.
Bad news, sex, and shock jocks sell papers. Sarah Palin is a side show attraction and there’s a sucker born every minute.

shelley,
You can sue anyone for anything if you have enough money. Fox has enough money to make your life hell if you tried this.

Palin has turned into Roseanne Roseannadanna and Van Sustren has to play Jane Curtin’s role. This is hilarious, an SNL comedy skit from the 70′s becomes real life in 2012. Palin even has the jacked up hair.
Just curious, why wasn’t Palin all over Ann Coulter for calling the President a retard the other night? It was not being used as a joke, Coulter was using the term as an insult.

aj,
I loved Reseanne Roseannadanna, and would have loved to see her imitate Palin’!

I seriously doubt that Palin knows what “sequestration” means. Too many syllables.

molly,
I doubt that too! I had to spend a significant amount of time educating myself about it, and I doubt seriously she has done that too.

Seems to me like Palin upsets you no matter what she says. She’s a good source of your articles. More importantly, maybe you can address the issues in the following link: http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/24/us/libya-benghazi-e-mails/index.html

Gary,
What they said following the attack is not the issue to me. There are a variety of potential reasons that they may have opted to be careful about saying that this was the result of terrorism, and the article you cite confirms that there was a variety of potential reasons for the attack.
The real question for me is whether the Obama administration was at fault for not having the security necessary in advance, if this problem was reasonably anticipated. From what I’ve read there was a need to limit funding by Republicans in the House, and that may be the reason there wasn’t more security. I’m not blaming the Republicans, just saying that I don’t view this as a political issue. See:
“But hidden beneath the GOP campaign is the fact that House Republicans voted to cut nearly $300 million from the U.S. embassy security budget. When asked if he voted to cut the funds this morning on CNN, Chaffetz said, “Absolutely“:
O’BRIEN: Is it true that you voted to cut the funding for embassy security?
CHAFFETZ: Absolutely. Look, we have to make priorities and choices in this country. We have — think about this — 15,000 contractors in Iraq. We have more than 6,000 contractors, private army there for President Obama in Baghdad.
And we’re talking about can we get two dozen or so people into Libya to help protect our forces? When you’re in t http://thinkprogress.org/security/2012/10/10/985191/chaffetz-absolutely-funding-embassy-security/ough economic times, you have to make difficult choices how to prioritize this.

Yes, I’m upset that Palin used a racist phrase to describe the President. Aren’t you?
Be objective, Gary. Look beyond her wink and her short skirt. She’s not worthy of any thinking person’s adoration or respect.
You’re an educated man, probably raised to believe in the importance of intellectual pursuits as I was. You have a different opinion from us on the direction in which our country should be moving. But, please, can we all agree that Sarah Palin is not capable of participating in a rational, deep political discussion?
Let’s have that discussion without Sarah Palin and her dog whistles and tired old talking points.

Malia, she also used a racist idiom from the days of slavery to insult the President on Facebook today. She is just a paid shill for the Koch Brothers, but she sure seems to enjoy spitting her invectives for dollars.
The good news is, she is attracting very little attention, for all her efforts. And B.W., there is no reason at all to expect her to call out Coulter. She pitched a fit over Rahm using the word as an adjective, but when Rush & Coulter use it as a noun, it’s crickets from Mrs. Palin. It’s always OK if you’re a Republican.
I hope she builds that Fitness Empire soon and leaves politics altogether. Enough is enough. John McCain should be ashamed to leave the house.

Sarah Palin will be a broke church mouse when I am done with her in court…She stole my trust fund…tried to kill me several times and has a gang of folks who helped her…until she threw them under the bus…now we will discuss these crimes committed over a long period of time…in federal court and the UN courts…both will be a win-win court cases…and teach those that commit crimes will be held accountable in a court of law…peace!

Sara Palin is hot but she should have stayed local. The Tea Party movement doesn’t work because it simply tries to tear down government work rather than to suggest ways to improve it.
