In case you thought Sarah Palin or Bristol Palin were about to fade into obscurity, there has been a new story to capture headlines.  The story is that Bristol Palin’s performance on Dancing With The Stars was so poor that somebody has threatened her and the show with the dissemination of Anthrax if Bristol isn’t voted off the show.    The powder received wasn’t really anthrax, but the headlines are real.  It’s like threatening a law suit, the threat is real, but the law suit is not.    The Palins have played the part of “victims” even when others have been shot and killed, and nothing was said or discussed about them, as in Sarah’s blood libel comment.  Now if Bristol is voted off the show, she can claim she has been victimized and was voted off the show because of the anthrax threat.  Because the powder sent wasn’t real anthrax, and because it is unclear who or why such a foolish threat was made, there is every reason to assume the “threat” came from a Palin supporter, who wanted to “help” the Palins stay in the headlines, and provide an alternate explanation for why Bristol was voted off the show, rather than pathetic performances.

Anthrax is caused by a fatal bacteria.  Many people have guns, so shooting a television seems like a predictable response to watching Bristol dance on t.v..  However most people don’t have access to Anthrax,   and those who do typically have bigger plans for the lethal powder than taking out a contestant on Dancing With the Stars.  Bristol said she was a “Red-neck woman” so the threat of Anthrax, with is usually associated with cows, might be part of the image she intentionally conveys.
