Who could forget Sarah Palin’s effort to bolster her foreign policy credentials during the 2008 campaign when she proudly proclaimed that Alaska and Russia shared a maritime border.
When Mitt Romney looks toward the ocean he can waive to Cape Cod or Nantucket, but neither are foreign countries.
Sarah Palin, who had no foreign policy experience, had more experience than Mitt Romney. At least she could waive. Palin also served on city council, and then as mayor of Wasilla before becoming the Governor of Alaska. Conversely, Mitt Romney held no elected position before becoming the Governor of Massachusets. Romney has not even served on his city council or as mayor. As Governor, he didn’t quit before his four year was up, but has never served in any position other than his position as Governor of Massachusetts. He, like Palin, can declare himself to be “Undefeated” even though he has been defeated.
Palin ran for Lt. Governor and lost, and for Vice President, and lost. Mitt Romney ran for President in 2008 and lost, and ran for Senate and lost to Kennedy.
Thus Mitt Romney’s only leadership position in government has been his four years as Governor of Massachusetts, which ended five years ago. Romney has had no leadership positions to make him qualified in the foreign policy arena. Yet Romney is now attacking Obama for his handling of the Middle East. The amazing thing is that the only “foreign policy” experience that Romney can claim is his experience outsourcing jobs to foreign countries, and the transfer of money to foreign countries. That’s the kind of foreign policy experience we don’t need. When Palin waived to Russia, she didn’t do damage to the United States, other than making us look foolish for ever supporting such an incompetent candidate. However every time Romney deals with a foreign country it hurts the American economy.

Malia, the ‘waived’ in relation to Sarah was kind of funny, but when you used it instead of ‘wave’ with Romney I thought it wasn’t a joke.
Anyway, you are right, and voters who are undecided will soon enough know what Romney is made of. I bet Ann already has her excuses lined up for the Thursday AM talk circuit.

Actually Mitt quit but didn’t tell anyone. Technically, he did not serve a full term:
“Laying the foundation of a presidential candidacy, Governor Mitt Romney has spent all or part of 212 days outside Massachusetts so far in 2006, an average of more than four days on the road each week, a Globe review of his public schedules shows.”

Criticism from a man who botched a simple trip abroad this past summer is self-evidently self-promotion. Romney has NO foregin policy experience and it shows when he talks about how we should swagger into other countries. Apparently ‘sovreignty’ has little meaning to him, but he is misgauging the antipathy of the American people to another war he would ‘elect’ us to enter.

Come on, Malia. Let’s be fair. Romney has quite a bit of foreign experience. A good portion of his money is in foreign bank accounts and he cruises around, with his friends, in yachts registered in the Cayman Islands. Oh…and don’t forget his highly successful trip to the Olympics with Ann and her horse. How much more foreign experience does he need?

Malia ~
Part of the dirty tricks aspect of Romney’s campaign is that the WSJ has been offering op-eds to campaign people without disclosing their affiliation with Romney.
Here’s what Media Matters wrote:
“Last week, we told you about The Wall Street Journal’s serious disclosure problem; the paper has been publishing op-eds from Mitt Romney campaign officials without disclosing the writers’ campaign roles.
Political intrigue, clandestine campaign advisers, unethical practices from a giant media conglomerate and a billionaire owner with an active Twitter account. This situation has all the ingredients of a B-grade action movie. So, we imagined what that movie would look like and put together a two-minute trailer: http://youtu.be/eyQmxdTDLvE

Malia –
Thomas Friedman crucified Romney in rhe NYTimes (09-29) for Mitt’s backward foreign policy. Well worth reading and spreading the word. Of corse, given that Romney has George W advisors, it’s no surprise that his world view is backward.
