since i watch only what i get locally, iow, no cable tv, i run thru a list
of local channels which are both english and spanish channels.
what amazes me is the english kids channel right next to the anglo
kids channel…what a difference.
the spanish kids channel is highly sophisticated while the anglo
kids channel next door is as low end dumb stuff as ive ever seen.
often ill stop and watch the spanish channel since the photography
is so beautiful and even in a mostly diff language its far more
enthralling.
the hispanic channels im seeing dont edit this stuff out because they
have entirely different programs for kids. iow, they dont use cartoon
figures, they use real live actual current film.
as an example…recently bored i had the anglo channel on,
going into a Long segment of cartoon characters, who, eventually i guess, were going to show how worms worked thru the ground.
but i never saw that; all i did see was cartoon characters who im assuming at some point were using that big engine powered worm
to mash its way thru dirt, but i never saw that, either.
meanwhile the hispanic channel showed the migration of large
pods of whales and other large sea creatures; how they use
momentum to breech the surface. etc.
no waiting on cartoons stories there.
i just found is sorta stunning the difference in quality of info.
CO,
It seems to me that television in America has been reduced to the most destructive ‘entertainment”. The idea that the champion of Stars Earn Stripes is a voluptuous female wrestler sorta says it all.
Couldn’t open it enough to play properly, as is the case with so many of these “added-on” blog features. _EulaineHall@aol.com_ (mailto:EulaineHall@aol.com)
the legends are that ‘disgruntled employees’ changed the toons. There are phallic and vaginal symbols throughout the Little Mermaid film. Allegedly, the artist didn’t know….pffft.
Some of them seemed to have some validity, others did not. I’m not hearing what they claim I should be hearing, and in some cases, I’m not interpreting things the same way. I think some people have way too much free time.
And in any case, it’s not really bothering me. We are way too prudish about raising our children. So far as I’ve been able to determine, children are far more affected by violent imagery than they are sexual imagery. (Although that does seem to be a temporary effect.)

However, there are subliminal messages in all of their films. images here:

Dis Gusted,
I took my kids to all these movies, and never knew! I guess I’m still learning about the big ugly world.
