Bill Clinton’s line from his DNC speech that it’s just “arithmetic,” will become part of the political folklore in the United States. Likewise, Clint Eastwood’s speech at the Republican convention, may always be remembered; but his  will be remembered as an example of what NOT to do when giving a speech before a national audience.  Eastwood’s speech, by anyone’s account, was bad.  Even people in Texas said it was BAD.  It wasn’t labeled as factually untruthful, but a disaster because it was bizarre, and pointless. Clint gave the impression he had forgotten to take his meds the morning of the speech.

We thought it was only Paul Ryan’s speech that was filled with lies and misstatements.   Now we realize that Clint’s speech was not only BAD, it was also Ugly! The ugliness came from the lies he told while delivering a really bad speech. According to Clint, there are 23 million unemployed people in America. According to the U.S. Labor Department, there are 12.8 unemployed people. While that is a lot of people, it is almost half of the number reported by Clint. Clint should stick to making movies, and leave the political speeches to the politicians.
