It is amazing to me that all these children were abused, and people just looked the other way because of football. The really sad thing is that while we’d like to feel good about the fact that people are finally doing something about this predator, the reality is that Sandusky and Paterno were at the end of their careers, so they weren’t going to be of much help in the near future. Now there is little need for them in the football program, and Paterno is dead, so now they can be outraged that this behavior went on so long!

How is Shailey? Is she alright? I corresponded with her some, but have heard nothing in a long time. I just hope she is safe somewhere.

When government and institutions protect predators, it is very hard for anyone to make a complaint and get anywhere with it. Been there done that with someone at a university who got away with these things for years and the university continued to protect him despite a number of victims. It is like fighting city hall, you can never win. I’m glad Sandusky finally got into trouble, but it is sickening the way he was protected for the sake of football.

You might want to exercise a little caution here. The site mentioned by nswfm called “educate yourself” is a group of articles by conspiracy buffs, innoculation refusers, believers in alien abduction, etc. You’ll find things like this:

While I do believe the evidence is clear that Todd Palin is a pimp, I’m not willing to go as far as to belive in the existence of Etheric Commandos and global satanists. This is getting into Dr. Strangelove territory, next we’ll be talking about “our precious bodily fluids”.

The Catholic Church has been preying on children for just how many years…..BTW, I am not Catholic. When I moved from Ohio to Mo and then TX, I was surprised at how many women freely spoke about being abused by their father, uncle, family friends……

I made up my mind to not raise a male chauvenist pig….that my son would be an asset and compliment to whomever he married. I spoke honestly with him about abortion and birth control….this is not hard to do….and to leave the little girls alone.
