As if to fund the purchase of new KKK robes, people have donated an additional $36,000.00 to George Zimmerman’s slush fund. What is it about George Zimmerman and Sarah Palin that causes people to send them money? Are they thinking that George and Sarah might need more guns, or just ammunition? Are they thinking that Mitt Romney might pick Zimmerman as his V.P. ? Are they thinking that George and Sarah need more money for their prescription drugs? Were they thinking that they each needed money for a hair cut?
…Oh nevermind, I assumed they were thinking!

Zimmerman’s lawyer solicited funds by saying, in essence, :If you would have killed Travon Martin if you were in my client’s shoes, send him money.”

Also, I hope the judge rescinds bail again due to a change in Mr. Zimmerman’s circumstances.I really wonder if the judge really had a clear view of Zimmerman’s cicumstances when he granted the $1 million bail ruling.

I’d be willing to bet you ten thousand of Mittens Romney’s dollars that none of these people have ever given one red cent to a legitimate charity.

read somewhere that the NRA paid for his first lawyer – remember the one that never met Zimmerman but was making public statements about him? the one that quit?
FL’s Stand Your Ground law was made and paid for by the NRA.

George Zimmerman will go nutz waiting in his safe house waiting for his conviction. He is mental already. We can hope that he screws up again and is sent back to his safe cell in jail.

Who?
He may be happy to stay in this safe house, and just collect the checks in the mail.

Who?
guaranteed. he will screw up before the trial starts. he is too mentally unstable. he is being monitored 24/7.

There is genuine concern about Zimmerman’s ability to support himself and put on a good defense. Is this unusual to have funds raised for a defendant?

eclecticsandra,
I was never a criminal attorney, but have never heard of people giving money to someone charged with a hate crime.
July 10, 2012 at 6:33 pm
eclecticsandra
How can this be classified as a hate crime? He seems to have no hatred for any group. He was trying to rally support at black churches for a homeless black man who had been beaten by a white man. He was concerned about a series of burglaries in the neighborhood.

eclecticsandra,
I am convinced after hearing the 9-11 recording when Zimmerman called Trayvon Martin a “fucking coon” that this was a hate crime.

This defense fund relies on the racism and ignorance of the people who would call Zimmerman a “hero.” it’s appalling to read what his supporters say about the young man who was killed walking home from a convenience store. I can understand his family and friends giving money for his defense (and I strongly believe that guilty as well as innocent people deserve good representation), but the idiots who are calling the kid a thug and the killer a hero are the dregs of society.

I wouldn’t call them either of those, but it does seem to me that Zimmerman is entitled to a good defense. As evidence of Martin’s record comes out, the feelings will change.

There would be nothing in the young man’s record that could convince me he deserved to be stalked, aggressively pursued and confronted, and killed by Zimmerman that night. Zimmerman was looking for a fight, looking to be a big man Imagine that was your teenage son walking back to your house after getting something at the store, walking where he had every right to be, doing absolutely nothing wrong. Imagine if your teenage son had a history of marijuana use, maybe had gotten into a few fight at school, was a big, strong kid. Would that explain why it was ok for him to be stalked and aggressively confronted for no reason? Would that excuse the fact that he was killed by an over zealous cop wannabe?
If Zimmerman hadn’t been quick to pursue, quick to confront, and unnecessarily armed, that young man would be alive today. It’s that simple.
I find all this victim blaming appalling. It’s the same as blaming a woman’s sexual history and flirty demeanor for her rape

That’s the problem with being dead … you can’t talk or defend yourself when you are dead.

Malia, I have listened to the call from Zimmerman many times. What I hear is “fucking boots.” He was trying to run and felt encumbered by his boots. If you look at the photos, he was wearing work type boots that night. Maybe we will get a good translation during the trial.

eclecticsandra,
Listen to this clip on CNN where the audio is enhanced and the background noise is eliminated. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJLA9vr97qw It seems apparent to me that it is a “c” word, not a “b” word.

eclecticsandra
Thank you for that reference. I agree with you it is a “c” not a “b.” It could be “cold,” but not being used to Florida weather, I question that it was cold outside at 60 degrees, especially with a coat on. I do not think “coon” was in GZ’s vocabulary, especially with his racial heritage.
July 11, 2012 at 11:29 am
Who?
It does not make sense that he said cold. The weather was perfectly comfortable. He stated prior to that that these guys always get away. So, I dont buy it.

I don’t either! His words are clear as day to me, and it might have been cold that night, but I don’t think he called 9-1-1 to tell them how cold it was that night.

Yes this is unusual to ask the general public for funds to defend and support him!!!!!!! Is there a fund set up for the victim? Zimmermans family should support him. I believe zimmerman was a walking yo yo with the drugs he was taking, he is a known hot head, had priors and snapped and murder an innocent youngman. If anything zimmerman should have set up a fund for the martin family as a kind gesture. Instead he ran with the divide and conquer nra attitude. I would have more compassion and respect for him if he said that he was wrong to stalk this youngman, it went terribly wrong, that he was extremely sorry and sadden. But I guess that is too much to ask to be truthful. Guilty and Pathetic.

The family traveled all over raising funds. GZ did give condolences at the first bond hearing. Would you expect him to testify against himself?
July 11, 2012 at 11:20 am
Who?
This is not testify against himself. This would be confession, that he was wrong to stalk and murder an innocent youngman. That he caused the confrontation and murder. That he feels deep remorse. That the drugs he was perscribed and was on and taking could possibly have caused his lack in judgement and his agressive behavior and actions. Why is that wrong? If I was on the jury this would weight out positive of him to me. The fact that he ran with the stand your ground law, continues to spin the facts, hires media hound attorneys, gets NRA help, ask the public to pay his past debts, his current debts, his lawyer fees, his bail and allows this to become another racial thorn in Americas back tells me he is a little liar, chicken shit, little man with a complex.
July 10, 2012 at 9:27 pm
Who?
Zimmerman would get the same defense if it were a Public Defender. This was not stand your ground. This was stalk and murder. There is a case now in Florida of an abused woman who defended herself from the abuser and she is now charged and convicted of shooting the abuser. So this law is a fake and racist law designed to protect abusers and racist.

who? do you know the name of the woman who was abused? I love the name “stalk and murder.” That seems so much more fitting.

At least he wasn’t sent as much money as the elderly school bus monitor.
I don’t understand why Trayvon Martin’s “record” has anything to do with this incident. My cousin recently complained that the parents/media only released a picture of him at a younger age. That was misleading, but I understand why his parents would want to garner sympathy. She also said “he’s all tatted up.” So? (I read later that he had two tattoos.) Having tattoos doesn’t mark someone as a criminal or a drug dealer. Hell, her son has 5 tatts. It really doesn’t matter if he actually had record; he had a legitimate reason for being in that complex, he was unarmed and not doing anything threatening (at least until GZ started following him). I will be so happy when this trial is over (in 2013?)

physicsmom,
I think we will all be glad when the trial is over. Zimmerman will never be able to explain away his 9-1-1 call, where it is clear he is the aggressor,

It’s fear and ignorance money paid by racists and paranoid people. Instead of getting out into the melting pot, they hide and listen to BS about all the how dangerous it is. They fear anyone who is different, not their demographic. We have a lot of paranoid people in this country who should not own guns.
July 11, 2012 at 12:14 pm
Who?
The whole reason for court hearings and trials is to get to the facts and truth. Although some believe that if you pay enough, one can legally spin the facts and forget about truth. Which is exactly what zimmerman and the NRA wants to do. The woman in florida feared for her life, ran out of the house without her car keys, went back into the house to get them, fired a warning shot, stood her ground and received 20yrs. Zimmerman stalked and murdered an innocent youngman. He deserves life without parole.

Malia, I hope you have had a chance to read the document dump today. It is long, but there is a lot in there to support George Zimmerman. 1. The word we were hearing is “Goons.” This is a name Sanford gangs have for themselves. Their common attire in winter is black hoodies. This is what GZ saw, Goons. 2. All of the interviews about GZ’s nature indicate he was not racist. Most important he never used ethnic or racial jokes. 3. He was badly injured that night from people on the scene and at work the next day.
Thank you for looking it over.
