Given the thousands of pages of e-mails that have just been produced it may take weeks to read all that came through Palin’s office. However here are a couple of e-mails that are particularly interesting, given the controversy surrounding the birth of Trig, and the question about who the real birth mother really was.

1. Trig was reportedly born on April 18, 2008.  As early as April 22nd the Governor’s office was “flooded with calls about rumors.” Sarah Palin herself sent an e-mail about the rumors that this baby might be Bristol’s, which had been around before Tuesday:

“Date: Tuesday, April 22, 2008, 2:12 PM

Hate to pick at this one again, but have heard three different times today the rumor again the Bristol is pregnant or had this baby. Even at Trig’s doc appt this morning his doc said that’s out there (hopefully NOT in their medical community-world, but it’s out there). Bristol called again this afternoon asking if there’s anything we can do to stop this, as she received two girlfriend-type calls today asking if it were true. 2. Then there is an e-mail of March 12, 2008 when Palin says:

Don’t want to take this too far. Kinda wish I hadnt had to tell anyone, but crazy to think it could have been hidden long. No- no Egan, and I’m not going to assume this will be as smooth and easy as the other kids’ births, so can’t imagine inviting in a rock radio microphone.

He also asked again about the live audio recording of the birth and what you thought. A private moment?

At page 191 of Going Rogue, Palin says:

“Before we knew it, I was seven months along. I hadn’t put on a lot of weight and with winter clothes and a few cleverly draped scarves, no one saw my girth or suspected I was pregnant.”

The e-mail was March 12th when she said it was crazy to think she could hide the pregnancy and this picture was taken two days later,on March 14th.

Who’s Not Your Mama?

It is also interesting that she admits in March that she isn’t assuming that this birth will be “as smooth and easy as the other kids’ births” and yet she still embarked upon the incredible journey on two plane flights from Texas to Alaska, for over 10 hours, after her water had broken, and she knew she was in labor. Unbelievable!
