We have known since Feb of 2011 that the Anchorage Police Department issued a “press release” at the request of Sarah Palin’s attorney, indicating that none of the “evidence seized” implicated Todd Palin in an alleged sexual relationship with Shailey Tripp, a prostitute. Dave Parker of the APD stated it was just “guilt by innuendo.” He said:
“It was just guilt by innuendo, nothing else,”
”There’s not one scintilla of evidence that Todd Palin had anything to do with this.”. It now seems that there isn’t one scintilla of evidence, other than Shailey Tripp’s lie detector statements, because the APD DESTROYED the evidence. Shailey Tripp has confirmed that in the last hearing before the Judge regarding the property seized that the cell phone and lap top were destroyed by Dave Parker on Sept. 14,2011. Dave Parker has admitted to me that he reads this blog, and doesn’t appreciate some of the things I have reported, but he never complained that anything I reported was inaccurate.
In the original National Enquirer articfle, they claimed 36-year-old Shailey Tripp was arrested for maintaining a house of prostitution in March and that cops had confiscated physical evidence that could tie ex-Gov. Sarah Palin’s husband to the alleged affair.
Thus the APD was put on notice that the “evidence seized” was critical to confirm the story of Shailey Tripp, but that evidence has been destroyed by the very policemen who gave the statement to the National Enquirer that attempted to vindicate Todd.
This is corruption at its most repugnant level! This is obstruction of justice! It’s an example of an elected official using the police to distort the truth. Shailey Tripp is entitled to the same protection under the law as any other citizen. Shailey’s rights have been violated. So have ours. The people of this country are entitled to know about the woman that could have been our Vice President, and the man who was Alaska’s First Dude. Todd Palin has never denied the allegations of Shailey Tripp. He must have been waiting to be sure the evidence was destroyed by the police.
It was clear that the “evidence seized” included a cell phone and lap top computer that were allegedly not “reviewed”. On two different occasions I notified Officer McKinnon that the “evidence seized” was very important and that the police should take special precautions to ensure that the “evidence” that included a cell phone and lap top did not mysteriously disappear.
The latest news from last week, is that the City prosecutor’s office admited to the presiding judge that Officer Parker destroyed everything, except the credit card machine. That means that the cell phone and lap top of Shailey Tripp, that she has been trying to obtain since June were destroyed. They were destroyed on Spet 14, 2011 !!! The fact that it was only the cell phone and lap top that were destroyed, and not the credit card machine would suggest that it was a cover-up rather than a routine police procedure! It appears Sarah Palin would like the government to “get out of the way” unless she needs their help.

How could Shailey know no one was bribed to destroy evidence?
Why be so obviously skewed in the destruction of possible evidence in order to protect a certain former first dude. After all if NOTHING was amiss why bother?
Let it all hang out if there is nothing to hide.
Beyond bizarre, even for Alaska.
And the e-mails it takes over 3 years to look over and redact and censure?
They are still stalling and hanging on to it. Nothing amiss, or something very damning?

This is such a gross violation of the law! What is the judge going to do about it?
The police involved should be fired/fined/lose their pensions because they’ve acted illegally. Whoever condoned or ordered them to destroy evidence should be identified and punished.
Don’t tell me that Alaska is so corrupt that the courts won’t act when the police spit in the face of the law!

Someone can still get the cell phone records. Plus if the hard drive wasn’t to badly destroy there is a way to put data off of it.
Anyhow the APD is paidoff and owned by the $alins.
Their day will come.

How do we know the judge is unbiased – means, he is not a Palin supporter? How do we know this act of pure covering up will be followed up and not swept under the carpet? Can we do something???

It doesn’t matter people like the palins get away with everything. Nobody at the top cares. There should be a federal investigation into shaileys civil rights. Obviously the state of Alaska is not going to care.

Please use your influence to get this info into the MSM. Some outlests might be interested since Todd the Dud has jsut done a presidential endorsement. Casting aspersions on him right now might have some small newsworthiness, about as small as his brain.
P.S. Doesn’t the Anchorage PD now owe Shailey for a cell phone and new laptop? After all they destroyed property that they themselves are claiming was not relevant to any case.

The only problem I have with this whole story… why hasn’t Shailey spilled the beans on everything?
I mean dig deeper Shailey, details EVERYTHING, they have stolen your property, they have belittled you into feeling like dirt, they have called you a liar.
Sing Shailey, cuz the AK police couldn’t give a damn about protecting the real Americans that pay their salaries…it’s all with who you know, but when you’ve lay down with them YOU have the biggest secret of them all. Sing.

Rocky in Texas said...
10 to 1 that there were many other names of people in high places in her cell phone and on her computer that could not afford to let the truth be known.
Shailey was more than likely servicing some very powerful people up there. So powerful that she got the hell out of there. For that reason alone, I doubt much will come of this case. At the very least, Parker should go to prison, but then again, palins high school buddy runs the prison.
Palin is getting more credit than she deserves for getting these items destroyed.
I sure would like to read a book written by Shailey about the sexual exploits and other issues of corruption that she must be aware of.

They depend on Shailey being vulnerable.
It takes a load of gumption and effort emotionally to push for your rights.
Some people are born to push and assert themselves, other curl up and turn away, too weak to continue, they give up trying for their rights.
The Palin tribe are pretty much shameless, assertive and pushy, from Chuck Heath Sr. on down in that family.
People can be defenseless against authority gone amuck.
But this is the Anchorage Police cirty closet as well as Todd Palin and his little fun and games dirt.
Like that jackass in New Hampshire who voted with dead peoples names to show it could be done. He has finally has gone too far and it will backfire, after all the garbage he pulled and got away with.
Sooner or later the closet door will open and all the moldering rotteness will spill out on Sarah and Todd.

If I had held my breath, I’d have died before the 2008 election. Never-the-less, now that Palin is no longer anything …not a politician, not a candidate, and obviously not truthful, we may see more people in Alaska willing to call her out. She has done a lot of damage to the image of Alaska, and it’s time for Alaska to start speaking out about the Palins.

Shailey’s lawyer should request the log from her phone from the provider. It would be interesting to see who called, from where. Do it fast, before the APD gets to the phone company first. Rules do not seem to apply in Alaska, do they?

Exactly, B.W.
It’s against the law to take someone else’s property and destroy it or refuse to return it.
It’s called theft, and the district attorney should pursue this vigorously, as should a police internal investigation unit. Criminals should be thrown out of the force, and then prosecuted.
Who owns the law in Alaska?

Todd made a mistake in getting out his endorsement. Gingrich may well win in South Carolina, that is a given at this time, since he is leading Romney by a few points. Have to wait till the evening of the 21st.
Perhaps the cheater first dude should have hunkered down and kept his mouth shut.
I wonder if he got a payoff from Gingrich besides the stupid VP and energy cabinet position remarks. Pretty shameless buttering up for the Palinbot vote.
Now will the Palins bleat they are responsible for any Gingrich victory?
Should or shouldn’t Shailey tell what was really on the destroyed evidence ?
After all so much in life, even in the law is she said, he said, with little to prove eithers contention.
Todd has never said ANYTHING about this story? Kept mum throughout?

I’m curious about one aspect of this–on 12/7/11, Ms. Tripp posted on her blog here: http://preview.tinyurl.com/6qrd34l
that she ” …has hired a well known private investigator to determine whether computers and cell phones believed to contain evidence of her affair with Todd Palin may have been tampered with while in the custody of the Anchorage Police Department (APD) in Anchorage, Alaska.”
Does this mean that there were multiple phones/computers, or was the forensics expert only retained and not actually given the devices to inspect?
January 12, 2012 at 6:43 pm
malialitman
dont’care,
I think that she thought when he was hired that the “evidence” still existed, but it was never produced, so the expert was probably never needed.
January 14, 2012 at 1:53 pm
anonymous
It was quite clear that Shailey engaged the forensic expert to evaluate the property that her mother picked up for her. And presumably, the credit card machine. Perhaps things that Shailey has in “a vault” and with various attorneys around the country, according to her own writings.
Shailey has been advised that she can claim the credit card machine, which was not included in her stuff because APD couldn’t determine the owner.
Convention (that we are all familiar with) suggests that she’ll probably have to provide some kind of proof that SHE’S the owner. The only reason she wouldn’t claim it is if she cannot prove that its hers.
But it doesn’t really matter – because the device isn’t critical to the transaction information. The credit card vendor account is. Those records don’t go away – it’s all still there. Each electronic transaction was activated by the vendor account and routed through individual client banks. You can absolutely count on it that those transaction records are there. So there ARE records of each transaction, twice. Very common and easily subpoenaed, you betcha. The burning question is why she hasn’t already retrieved her vendor account records? And why wouldn’t she have continued to receive her vendor account statements by mail in the typical business fashion?
Her business and personal accounts and records didn’t cease to exist by the act of being arrested.

Malia – that scenario has played out in several places across the US. The new idiot-lizard Governor (among the most incompetent ever, anywhere, and a crook to boot) of my state Florida, Rick Scott, apparently fooled a lot of people when during the campaign his Barbara Bush look-alike mother stared into the camera and recited “My Ricky is a good boy…” – part of a media blitz/ gubenatorial campaign that won him the election. And now the people of FL are looking at one another and saying “WTF. this man is a nutcase?” “People’s frustration…” as you wrote, can cause strange things to happen.

My understanding and observations and experience’s of the “serving and protecting” police just went down to dirt. I have tried to be respectful of a profession that supposedly protected the public, but gradually, I have lost all respect for most of the police. I’ve only met a handful of them who have lived up to their mission. More than anything, I think they pose a danger to our health and well being. As you’ve well stated Malia, Shailey Tripp has all the rights accorded any citizen, and APD has violated her rights and stolen from her on top of that. We do well to ask WHO are the REAL criminal’s and then a public action to have those within the APD who are guilty along with Dave Parker – to have them removed from those positions and charged with the crimes THEY have committed. Disgusting. Thoroughly disgusting. Their dishonest courses of actions in law and in protecting the likes of people like Palin set precedents for others to follow that will keep the Alaskan outhouse of corruptions stinking up the landscape for the forseeable future. That’s so maddening.
The Palin trash could never get Walt Monegan to do their dirty dirty deeds for them. Alaskan’s are more at risk than ever with a police department headed by the likes of Dave Parker and that is my solid opinion and belief.
ALL of “their” people (the Palin’s) are like them: criminal’s and then just stupid, phony phony phony horses asses passing themselves off as “christians”. So many people in the world like them. No wonder there are so many atheists. Now, they are just in the bunch of corrupted rotten conscience-less people who take over everywhere. Their day of karma/paybacks/ are coming and I hope the sooner the better. People like them are ruining and polluting OUR world with their corruption stink. I for one, am sick of them. Our unrequited justice is long overdue.

Malia, I remember something you posted on that, and I was thinking, “oh God, there goes the evidence”. Sure enough. APD just bided their time in delay upon delay probably believing they could get away with this indefinitely. I hope Shailey Tripp sues the hell out the guilty parties. There is an ugly injustice at work here. And the Palin’s should be run out of Alaska for the damages and crimes they and their idiot robotics have perpetrated. They are all persona non grata(s). This would not have happened under Walt Monegan’s watch.
Palin’s have tainted the state of Alaska. All their cronies the same. In my opinion, they are ALL CORRUPT BASTARDS and nothing but. Aside from Sarah’s obvious mental abberation. She had better sing American praises and drip with that phony patriotism because even in its grave deficiencies and national corruptions, it has allowed her and her family of nothings to become somethings – albeit, dark, sinister, pathological, criminal and very very UGLY “somethings”. Ignored and shunned in obscurity is their real place. Out in the desolated area of America called Death Valley Arizona. Since she already favors that state. Like a plague, she should be in permanent quarantine. Also Death Valley is a perfect place for snakes. She’d fit in perfectly.

I am surprised that Parker admitted he was the one who destroyed the evidence, and that he didn’t destroy ALL the evidence. I wouldn’t think it was ever his job to destroy any evidence, and if he was just being efficient by throwing away old property, why not the credit card machine too?

Beautiful strong statement, deenaa. I worked with Law Enforcement (LE) many years doing child abuse investigations in FL and MA. I came across some who were compassionate, professional and competent. I have seen many others who violated their code of conduct and who were/are an imminent danger to many in our society. The police brutality that has been exploding across the US over the last few years (much earlier than that directed at certain minority groups) is shocking. The percentage of people in the US arrested and incarcerated is out of control. It is an indicator of an assault on our social structure (some say to support the private prison industry or state prison no-wage inmates making license plates). There are many major faults and symptoms exhibited by LE in these United States – indicating some pathology that is frightening and a true threat to our society.
January 14, 2012 at 4:29 am
deennaa
Yes, we should all be alarmed. We should also be thoroughly immersed in knowledge of our legal rights as it is my understanding and also my observation, that police officers are allowed legally to lie and LIE they do – to take away our individual rights – condemning individuals in so many ways simply because they can. We as a supposed “democratic” society, have not fully (many not at all) took it upon ourselves to know and understand all the laws that govern us. This is a responsibility that too many American’s have shirked in their mis-understanding of what democracy really demands of “the people” for it too be a true democracy. I think we can see this every day at every hour all days year in and year out. We have, as a nation of peoples, not understood and therefore did not/have not/do not any longer, have a semblance of a true democracy. I wonder if its too late to be saved.
And yes, I do believe there is definitely a pathology that is a very real threat to our society. On many levels. We, as a people, have too many false ideas and beliefs and are too divided with those ideas and beliefs to really change what must be changed for the threat to be . neutralized. Courage, integrity and the WILL to make things better, are collectively missing. We seem to rather pick leaders who are liars and cheats and let them run amuck – whether local, regional or national. That is not to downplay the “individual” efforts and integrity of certain people who understand what they see before their very eyes, but I speak about the collective society. Its gone down. Way down. Dangerously down.

This is incredible! So, to recap, the judge had ordered the APD to return this evidence, the APD had it destroyed, and never confessed to doing this to the judge?! They just kept stringing Shailey (and the judge) along!!!
I sincerely hope that Shailey finds an attorney that will take her case pro bono and sues the APD. I hope she asks for millions! Not for the money, but to put this case out front and center in the media! This needs to be seen!

Malia – in most jurisdictions across the country “contempt of court” is a very serious matter. I was in juvenile justice and worked family court cases many years (Foster Care, Child Abuse Investigations, etc.) and I recall one instance when the Dept. of Children and Families failed to place a teen in a program as ordered by the judge two weeks prior, and the judge gave the agency’s attorney two hours to get the head of the agency into her courtroom to answer why the placement was not made. The agency head was there. The placement was made that same day.

I knew from the beginning they would either destroy Shailey’s property or delete the data, because the same thing happened with me when I needed some pictures from the state troopers for a civil suit. They did it to protect themselves from their own incompetence and abuse and to protect the state from a lawsuit. This is SOP for law enforcement in Alaska. Any dispute between a commoner and the elite results in the elite coming out on top no matter how much they need to spend time in prison. I thought Dave Parker was probably just a mouthpiece, but it seems he is the ring leader. Scumbag.

I just thought they’d be a little more clever about how they’d do it, but I guess I gave them too much credit for being smart about this.

Malia, what I spoke of earlier regarding being deputized: If PARKER was simply doing his job as a spokesperson, he would have no authority to destroy property – unless it was GIVEN to him / or he was directed to. Spokespeople are rarely deputized.
Even then, Official Records would have been kept. If he was deputized, destruction of property MAY have fallen within the realm of his duties, though highly unlikely. It may sound like splitting hairs, but – bear with me – who gave the order to destroy the property? Or did PARKER take it upon himself? If so, he had to feel pretty confident about his backside being protected from any blowback.
O-B-V-I-O-U-S-L-Y something was on Shailey’s property that was determined by The Powers That Be within APD never to see the light of day again.
Now its a party!

So, the APD destroyed her laptop and whatever. Don’t you think they didn’t know Shailey had back-up? She’s told us she has information stored in two or three places in case something happens to her.
What would Shailey have done if the APD had returned all her equipment to her? That’s what I don’t get. She has all the same data stored that I’m sure would prove Todd was absolutely involved.
Go figure…

ginger,
I don’t know what she has but if she had nothing, this looks so bad that everyone would believe her now.

Indeed.
The innocent have nothing to worry about and don’t need to destroy evidence, violate a judge’s order and commit crimes. Something is definitely rotten in Alaska.
We should get the National Enquirer to do a follow-up to their original story. The story is much bigger now.

I am thinking that if they destroyed her phone and laptop it must be due to Todd Palin’s guilt. Lol they lose trying to win by destroying evidence. If there truly was no evidence why destroy her records?

I really hope Shailey pursues a case against the APD, too. They defied a court order and can’t be allowed to sweep this under the rug like Palin swept her son’s cutting of brake lines to school buses or her daughter’s participation in vandalizing an unoccupied home of a friend, under a rug with the help of dirty cops. For those Palinbots who refuse to believe the truth about Track and Willow, both Walt Monegan and his wife, who are associated with law enforcement in Alaska spoke about it to McGinniss and they have good reputations unlike Palin, who is known to be a compulsive liar. Neither of them would put their jobs on the line to spread a lie about Palin’s kids so I know what we’ve been hearing is absolute truth. Sarah has looked so many people in the eye and lied to their face that she doesn’t think twice about it.
I can’t wait for Shailey’s book and the truth about Todd Palin to come out. Will Sarah throw him out or will she have to stand by him since he knows all her dirty secrets? This will be fun!

Might explain why the Palins have been so vocal this week, what with appearing on Hannity, Judge Pirro and the always effeminate Todd endorsing Newt Gingrich… something, anything to deflect attention away from this story…

I believe and respect Shailey, and I know she is an intelligent woman.
However, she is a weak writer. She needs to have a good editor or even a ghost writer in order to write a credible book. I hope she has some good advisor/s who will make sure her book is well written and organized.

How destroyed?
Where are the pieces?
Who ordered it destroyed?
Where is the chain of evidence?
I remember a while back the police saying they had returned everything to her, what date was that?
Wasn’t there a 2nd judges order to return these items?
Didn’t the police state they didn’t have them? What date?
A lawsuit should be filed and discovery to get the police records.
This is blatant. Did the police lie to the judge?
So many questions.

My mind boggles…it appears an old bumbling dude is a police depts PR guy….but this old dude is also the “fixer” who destroys evidence. A sheep in wolves clothing? So when is he going to be retired with full pension?

Why am I not surprised at this turn of events? The tentacles of the Palin octopus are long and evil. They spread everywhere. Why oh why do they keep getting away with this garbage?
This information needs to go viral and soon. “Cuz Palin is not going away anytime soon and she needs to be stopped.

I thought Parker was the communications guy. Is he in charge of destroying all evidence or just shaileys evidence?

Thanks for keeping us informed about APD and the infamous Dave Parker!

Quite interesting. Obviously Parker was not expecting this much push back from Shailey and thanks to Malia he has. So he destroyed evidence. Whoa, not good for his record me thinks. Stupid ass!
So now we’ll see what a judge thinks about this and handles it.

We have to wonder what other names were on this evidence that Parker destroyed. And we have to wonder if Parker “knows” those names. I think he’s protecting more than just Toad.
Is he willing to lie under oath?! Being a Christian and sworn as a policeman to an oath of honor?
So now “other powers that be” could owe Parker. We have to wonder what strings are being pulled behind the scenes, what screws are being tightened, hopefully this judge holds her ground and lets Parker have it.

I’m starting to think one of those names on Shailey’s client list is that of Dave Parker. It would explain a lot.

This dovetails into the latest episode, Rossi the head of Alaska Dept of Fish and Game, resigning after being charged with illegal bear guide and hunting.
Ms. Malia, please look at it from your attorney point of view,
1.) the incidents happened in 2008, Rossi taking out of state hunters bear hunting (allegedly illegally)
2.) who were those hunters , ie; big political hacks/money people etc for Republican party
3.)was this a pay to play scandal, wealthy hunters paying large amounts to easily hunt bears. And where did the money paid by these hunters go. Did Rossi keep it all for himself?
4.) Some people don’t believe in coincidences, and this Rossi timeline is very fishy.
2008 illegal hunting by Rossi
2009 appointed by Palin to newly created predator control position in Fish & Game
2010 Rossi promoted to head of Fish and Game by Gov. Parnell
2012 prior illegal wildlife activities come to light and Rossi resigns
Rossi is only charged with isdemeanors at this time, and there probably isn’t enough of a punishment there to get him to ‘roll over’.
Rossi’s original appointment by Palin was at the least foolish and ill advised.
When is the Law Enforcement community of Alaska going to break away from their political masters and become true champions of justice?

Tom,
I hadn’t heard about Rossi, but given the appointment of a New Attorney General, maybe something will come of this.

Malia, have you actually seen a copy of the two-page police report yourself? If so, was it a redacted version with names blacked out?
Did you read this document yourself?

I have seen more than two pages of the original police report, but I’m not sure what you’re asking.

The case-numbered APD report of the arrest. Not court files. it’s not an open record; not available to the public.

Great. Is it a redacted copy? What _exactly_ does it say about Todd Palin?
The part that the National Enquirer story was based on; the landlord and other tenants’ complaints to the police that they saw Todd Palin coming and going.
Is Todd’s name redacted?

Wow. How do these bullies get away with everything? Why do they continue to have so much power in AK? I know they bully and threaten people into submission, but is this the only means they have of subjigating others? I sometimes think Sarah Palin is the evil spawn of Dick Cheney or someone else. I know her father is an outright monstrosity and she learned from the best, but dear God,someone has to stand up to them and stop them. She gets away with everything, everything, she must be the daughter of the devil. She calls herself a follwer of Christ, but she doesn’t resemble HIm in any form or fashion.I guess lightening striking her is the only way to stop her.

I think Dave Parker is not losing any sleep over this.. http://www.adn.com/2012/01/14/2264215/with-a-little-help-beauty-apprehends.html
“She did a great job on stage,” said Lt. Dave Parker, the police spokesman. “I was in the audience with my grandson.”
