The interview Sarah Palin did with the magazine Runner’s World was a question and answer format. There was no need to lie. There were no "gotcha" questions. Palin went out of her way to lie about the baby jogger. Here is the relevant excerpt from the interview:

WHY WE CARE THAT PALIN LIED ABOUT A BABY JOGGER
Obviously whether Sarah Palin jogs with Trig, in a baby jogger, is irrelevant to the issue of whether she is qualified to be the President. Whether she sings the National Anthem to Trig on the trail is of no consequence to the future of our country. It is the deception to which we object. Repeatedly Sarah Palin has lied about who she is.
The Reason Her High School Basketball Team Won the State Championship.
Sarah Palin characterized herself as the player that led her basketball team to a state championship. The truth is that in the final three games of the state tournament she was unable to play. She only scored a total of 6 points in the last three games. The coach put her in during the last minute of the last game when her team was ahead by 4 points. Sarah did make one of her two free throws at the end of the game, so her team won by 5 points instead of 4. However to suggest that Sarah was responsible for the win was a total fabrication. She was not the basketball champion. Bennett, Trailblazer.
The Hunter
During the speech Palin gave at the RNC where she introduced herself to the country, she portrayed herself as a hunter. The truth is that she didn’t even have a hunting license in 2008 and 2009.
The Champion of Ethics Reform in Alaska
Palin has repeatedly painted a portrait of herself as the champion of ethics reform in Alaska. However in the Troopergate matter, a bi-partisan committee determined that she:
Then, as if to challenge the intelligence of the electorate, Palin said she had been cleared of any “hint of unethical” conduct.
The Fiscal Conservative
Palin has repeatedly labeled herself as a fiscal conservative. She is known for saying that the government should “Get out of the Way.” Even if Sarah Palin lies, the numbers don’t. Here are some worth noting:
$5,500,000.00 – amount of federally funded earmarks Wasilla received while Palin was Mayor.
$35,000.00 – amount Palin paid per year for the lobbyist hired by Palin while mayor of Wasilla to obtain earmarks.
$26,000,000.000 – amount of federal tax dollars spent by Palin on the “Road to Nowhere”, a road leading to the edge of a cliff where the bridge was originally intended to be built, but was canceled before construction of the road was started. According to the Alaska Transportation Priorities Project, a group promoting “sensible transportation systems in the state,” the “Road to Nowhere” was an “irresponsible waste.”
$27,000,000.00 – amount of federal earmarks Palin secured with the help of her hired lobbyist for Wasilla’a town of 6,700 residents.
$197,800,000.00 – amount requested in earmarks for Alaska while Palin was Governor; a total of 31 earmarks representing more per person than any other state in the United States.

Sarah Palin and aides like Sharon Leighow have knowingly, purposefully, and intentionally lied to America. From political issues to jogging with Trig we have proof that Sarah Palin is a chronic liar. No wonder there is so much controversy about whether Trig is actually Sarah’s child. Sarah has taught us to distrust everything she says. I hate those baby joggers. I see moms around here with them, and the child is being totally ignored while mom gets in her run. I also hate seeing moms with their ears plugged into their IPODs or their phones while taking the baby for a stroll. I shudder to think what the first words of these children will be …”hi, how’s your day, no, not then, are you kidding me, he did what, no shit.” Whatever happened to talking to our children and letting them know they are important to us? Whomever is on the other end of the electronics is NOT more important than that child. Ever.

Malia, I would be shocked if Shailey did not have a lot of missing material from her phone and laptop. They may just switch hard drives in the laptop completely. Even court transcripts out of some courts don’t reflect everything that was said in court here. I’ve had emails removed from my account and a laptop damaged, but that may have just been done out of meanness.

Stay at it Malia. She lies all the time and the thing is … the lies are in her own words, recorded and written, anyone could point out examples. There was an interview where she said that during the campaign, the children missed her because they were at home going to school but could join her on the weekends – a blatant lie; I found photo after photo that were dated on weekdays where Piper and Willow were on the stage with her at whatever campaign stop. We know the kids did not go to school; we also know that the campaign probably paid for their food and incidentals as well as clothing and transportation. LIES.
I see that someone has told you about what Shailey Tripp is saying re:Todd’s activities. I posted a comment at Progressive Alaska about that they may or may not have anything to do with the accusation, but I found it interesting … in an email dated October 18, 2007, Todd writes Frank Bailey and Kristina Perry to ask them if they have seen his address book. It does make you wonder whose addresses were in that book, doesn’t it. Apparently he had a couple of people looking everywhere for it.

The state had already received all the money for 2 bridges in Alaska, which is why her statement that she told Congress “thanks but no thanks” for the money is a lie- and why it doesn’t appear in her books or public statements anymore. And there was an email in which Scarah asks Toad to buy more veggies and less processed food for the kids. It could have been to create an image for this “Get Fit Challenge”, as people would see Toad in the grocery stores buying “real” and “healthy” food.
So she was FOR promoting fitness and healthy eating in July 2008 while Gov, but was AGAINST it when Michelle Obama made it a national health issue with her “Let’s Move” program, veggie planting and addressing childhood obesity and diabetes.
She’s so fricking VAIN she most likely thinks Michelle STOLE her idea, lol, therefore she was gonna blast her program on national TV with the s’mores on SPA.
Just shows more of her hypocritical and vindictive side.

By the way, the Jerusalem Post has a piece on Beck’s trip to Israel; he’s trying to retrace $P’s steps. The same story then proceeds to lambaste Palin, Hannity, Beck, fundies and evangies. How lovely! Malia, it looks as if all your perseverance and dogged determination is finally bearing fruit! Thanks you so much for your support! I am not ready to assume she won’t run, and I communicated with Shailey Tripp yesterday, and she still doesn’t have her lap top and cell phones back. I think there is a significant chance the all the information on them will mysteriously disappear. We’ll watch this and see how it plays out. Malia

If this photo was taken between July 21 and July 28, 2008, Trig would be 3 months old. Not certain how they count real age with a premature baby, but wouldn’t that make his real age 2 months old in this photo.
You have to be kidding me!!! This child is not a 3 month old preemie!!!! This is a additional info for those questioning Trig’s birth!!

I just looked at the picture again. Are the laces untied? Who jogs with laces untied? The shoe looks funny to me, but may just be shadows. Looks like the sole is loose.

OK, I’ve figured it out.
The photo you’ve posted is from her infamous Runner’s World piece, which was done in the summer of 2009 (when Trig would have been a year and a quarter according to his “birth date.”
The article referenced in the e-mails was published in WSJ Magazine. Here it is:

I think you are right. I think the e-mail relates to the the earlier year,and the picture is taken a year later. It is curious to me that the baby stroller looks new in the picture, and certainly isn’t one that has been used for the last year. Looking at the stroller, and especially the carrier at the bottom,it looks like it is brand new. If it we mine, I guarantee the pouch at the bottom wouldn’t be clean or empty. Malia

Yes, I agree, this doesn’t mean she’s not a liar and, of course, she still borrowed a stroller for the WSJ photo shoot to pretend she used it with Trig (even thought they didn’t use that particular photo in the article.

What’s troubling about this whole fictitious scene is why did Sharon Leighow, Palin’s deputy press secretary, suggest a scenario to make Sarah look like the “Sarah Palin Loving Jogging Mother Singing To Her DS Baby In A Baby Jogger” when Sarah did not have all her props?
I guess we can assume that Sarah knew where to find Trig since she did not send out an email asking for help to find a DS baby, but the problem is that Sarah needed one more prop, the baby jogger!
So Sarah sent out an All Points Bulletin to two of her Alaskan State government workers to find and borrow a baby jogger as shown below:

The photo is from the Runner’s World shoot. But what strikes me about it is that the woman holding the child has not held him much before. She is over-compensating for his weight by leaning away. The two of them have not spent much time together. A hands-on mother develops muscles as the baby grows and the two of them can stand and walk gracefully as the baby grows. Even a DS baby, who has less muscle tone. The woman and child in that photo are not having a normal mother-child relationship.
